What can you do with the VQ37VHR, without going totally nuts and keeping stock drivetrain reliable?

I mean it depends you can go NA with E85 and higher compression and cams. This would be my choice given I like tracking cars.

On E85 the engine put down almost 367 wheel hp and 293 lb ft of torque, or about 440 crank hp! That is serious power and torque for a streetable 3.7 liter NA engine, just about 100 whp per liter! This was the most powerful NA 370Z that Specialty Z has tuned to date.

Lots of guys have run superchargers on these and the earlier 350z from Stillen. The issue is keeping IAT's down. And the self contained superchargers tended to blow up during track use as they would overheat.

Not being satisfied, Sebastian kept at it until he reached 441.99 hp and 350.94 tq at 6620 RPM. - 91 octane
he results for our 100 octane map were 483.96hp and 378.15 tq at 6790 RPM. That ought to be enough to turn our tires into dust!
Finally, Sebastian dialed things down a notch for a 98 octane map at 467.66 hp and 369.38 tq at 6800 RPM.

Being honest you are going to get way more bang for buck on the domestic side or just going to a used GT-R if you want 600-800hp out of these. Twin turbo kits easily get into the 10-15k range once you are done with all the little bits and bobs that eat up a turbo budget.

Actually, was thinking something mild over stock, for a small bump in power. For example I threw my Silverado on the dyno just to clean up the mapping, as it was running too rich. Went to 89 octane and rest is stock. Got about 8-10% peak power increase and mileage went up 1-2 in the city, lol.

it is what it is, an updated 370z. Yes no shock, this was kind of expected. No way Nissan was going to introduce an entirely new chassis when the industry is shifting EV. They've been using updated flavors of the FM platform since the '03 350z/G35 days. Nissan is financially struggling, like really bad, this could have been an easy chop because its not a money maker. Versas and Altimas are the sales.

I'm not really mad they recycled door handles and some switches. The redesign still looks fantastic IMO, its subtle and not overdone. And the VR30 engine is capable, and now with a manual option makes it even more attractive.

Nissan has been in deep financial trouble for a while now and they're basically hanging on by a thread at this point. They haven't made a profit since end of fiscal year March 2019, they lost almost $1.4 BILLION last year (largest annual loss ever for the company) and their big goal for a comeback/turnaround this year is to MAYBE break even at best. Under these circumstances, it would be ridiculous for anyone to expect them to splurge on developing an all new version of a niche car like the Z.

First drive impressions:

Gotta say, I really like that blue. But the 6.9 cu ft of cargo space... that's only 65% of what I currently have, which isn't enough.
