No 2 door with a 6’ bed = fail. Gimme that extended cab with a 6’ bed any day. Stupid move on Chevys part because they sold a lot of the 2 door WT models.
Do you have sales figures? I find it hard to believe they actually sold a lot of that combo to consumers vs fleet sales

Also doesn't excuse the fact that 74" doesn't equal 78" and TCGDoesn'tRead

If the 74" bed was sufficient it wouldn't be an issue, and I wouldn't have said anything.

you're really only making your excuse for the longer bed because you want to though. wgaf if the tailgate closes or not for the 3 times in the next 12 years you haul a motorcycle. get a bed extender or take the tailgate off.

Keep trying. I haul more than the track bike in the back.

You’re defending your own error. Just own up to it and move on.

The 4 cylinder is interesting. Wonder if it's Atlas based. I don't know that it's a great decision going this route but I wouldn't be surprised if they're trying to get CAFE numbers up and/or they're reducing their engine tooling costs by having a common platform engine. This is very similar to what Volvo did a few years back where they went to a 2.4L that had a "menu" of power levels. If the tuner community continues to be locked down GM could theoretically just use the same hardware throughout and up charge for what amounts to a tune.

Then again there may actually be some minor differences. It'll be interesting to see what the first groups of people who research/build these figure out.

It could also be as a prep for a hybrid platform. Volvo did that on the XC90 T8.
