Before dealer ADM.ZR1 must be 500k minimum right?
Rumors of it seem on the gm test track with a Porsche GT2RS… would be wild if it was using that as their base.
I mean GM has three what is believed to be 3 ZR1’s on their test track in Michigan and at the same time they have 3 of the Porsches. So I’d assume they are looking to make the car perform just as well to the Porsche or better.Wild? I think the Porsche will be the ZR1 target and itll destroy it.
Isn't that the rumored Zora?I still wonder if GM will make a trim above the ZR1 even for the C8.
What’s base Z06 msrp? I think the ZR1 will be $50k more base wise.Zr1 will be 200k over

If you consider that so much of the design is clean sheet the C8 seems to be incredibly well executed. You don't hear about a bunch of recalls or anything like that. I mean shit what was the last rear engine car GM made? The Fiero?Randy Pobst ran the Z06 and GT3 around Willow Springs. The GT3 was a little quicker. So I could see the ZR1 being quicker. But the GT3 was much more controlled and fewer inputs needed to go quickly. Whereas the Z06 needed a lot of input fighting the wheel, skated around on braking, and wasn't nearly as controlled as the GT3. Will the ZR1 address these issues? Quicker is great. But not if you have to be a top driver to get those times. Or you can't keep those lap times because you're too tired to keep driving at 110% the whole time.
I think the ZR1 will be quick around the course. I think refinement will be lacking. Maybe after the mid-year refresh the ZR1 will be a better car. The Chevy & Corvette engineers do a great job. I am sure as the car continues development, it will get better and better. On the other hand, it's like this is the GT3RS' swan song. They threw everything at it. The engine has no more to give. A Hybrid could help with power but at the cost of weight. The chassis and suspension are incredible. How much more could it be improved? Could this be the last low-weight GT3RS? Crazy times we live in. Should be fun to see where both cars go in the future.
Agreed. I'm not knocking it. But it also took them like two years longer than expected. Chassis development issues, electrical issues, etc. So they got extra time and money to make it right. But it came out of the gate amazingly well for a first-year completely new model. I am sure they will still tweak it to be better and better as time goes on.If you consider that so much of the design is clean sheet the C8 seems to be incredibly well executed.
