2014 High Country Chevy Help

Im not sure if the High Country had a 1 engine option only.

My uncle just bought a 2014 and I asked if its got a 6.2 or 5.3 whats the easiest way to tell?

Without having to decode a VIN is there an easy way to tell say by block casting head casting measure TB?

Whats the easiest way?

Look at the sticker under the hood. Should have the “emissions” information.

Is it a 1500, 2500, 3500. High country was a trim level used across the whole line.

But easier way, check sticker in engine bay. Either on the under side of the hood, or near radiator support.

Glove box RPO sticker, take a pic of that and post it up.

also, 8th digit of the vin will tell you engine for that as well.

Agreed moving from a 2009 LT its still a nice upgrade.

L83 is a 5.3, L86 is a 6.2 as far as rpo codes go for that year range. The intake manifolds are also a little different if your familiar with the pcv routing on the lt truck engines.

6.2 is indeed a bad mofo especially with a little extra pedal in it

High country was the trim package with the boot leather seats I believe. I know the ltz I had was ordered specifically by the dude before me with the 6.2 and some other stuff he couldnt get with the high country package.

Was salty as hell too. Still to this day think alot of the 8 speed problems started at the maf and worked their way through the torque calculations after spending a stupid amount of time playing with it.

this being said, i have driven a 5.3/10 speed truck and it goes plenty well.

5.3/6 speed trucks with 3.07 or whatever gears they toss in tahoes can't get out of their own way though.
