Why you guys swingin so much? If you ignore the fact it has a V6, it still has what 300HP+. I don't see this time as anything crazy especially from a car with 4.10s (with what a 5 speed auto) Thats some aggressive gearing.

ur shitting me right?

Still trapped 107mph :ugh: which was what most of the ls1's (98-02 camaro SS and whatnot) trap in stock form with an M6.

fucing exactlty

Because the model that is most widely known as being bought by parents as a gift for their 16-year-old cheerleader daughter is capable of doin work.

my suburban has 300 hp + its not quick. this is as quick as 75% of stock fbodys at the track with less hp... and a v6. stop being silly and realize its pretty sweet.

Don't compare a suburban to a mustang. The LS1 Fbody can be 13 years old now. Id expect with today's tech a motor with 2 cylinders less can have 300HP and run similar times. Nissan had 300HP V6's for a few years now right? It is pretty sweet compared to the performance of previous V6 mustangs, im just saying it should be expected from a 300HP+ car.

I'm pretty sure the 5.0 has a 93 tune and has a default map for 87 that pulls out timing.

The knock sensors adjust the "tune".

According to Harrison, a lot of effort was expended on the engine management system. The adaptive spark control system keeps the engine running right on the knock sensor all the time, continuously adjusting the spark advance to avoid detonation regardless of the fuel used. The control system has a high bandwidth air-fuel control algorithm to make sure that it's both responsive and efficient. The 5.0 has also benefited from work done on the Fusion Hybrid by incorporating aggressive deceleration fuel shut-off. Whenever the throttle is released, fuel flow is shut off completely to improve efficiency.

These are pretty trick engine management systems in the newer Fords. You can even read the engines A/F ratio through an OBD scanner.
