Let's see pics of the snorkel at full spray!

I will have to check with one of the EMTs. I think she has one or close to it.

keep those Alcoa Wheels clean! when they get dirty they tarnish of sorts...

We had a 4 alarm fire in Utica a few weeks ago. IT WAS FILTHY! But nothing a good washing and polishing fixed

How do you rate fires as far as the number of alarms? Do you have the whole alpha/bravy/charlie/delta fires like the dod/dhs has?

We rate fires by alarms.

We use a system called mabas (mutial aid box alarm system). It is very prominant system started here in illinois. 90% of the time we have a still alarms, unless it is a confirmed structure, then we have dispatch call the mabas 25 division office, and request a box number and alarm 1-5.

Joliet fire used Mabas for the fire at the empress casino.

Then mabas will send out a certian tone across the pagers to all local departments in our mabas division and the neighboring division since some depts are in the neighboring division, and they will say 'attn mabas division 25 to all local depts, tonica pulled box 101, 1st alarm, for a stucture fire at X street in tonica, all units are to respond as follows...'

Then they can read who goes where. Also all depts have our cards so they too can read about who goes where too. Then when they go in route they notify mabas that they recieved the page. And there are specific channels for mabas for fire personal to communicate on the fire ground so that it doesnt clutter up main frequencies.

Its a pretty neat system. And there is not just for structure fires, there is mass casualty incidents to get mass quantities of ambulances, water boxes that are for tankers only (since down here a lot of towns are rural communities), search and rescue boxs (Utica has one, they have a large state park).

Also our mabas division has a TRT (tactical rescue team) High incline, high angle rescues, stuctural collapse. A Hazmat team (which I belong too) and water rescue. With in the next yr they want to develop a dive team and join it with the water rescue team.
