NEW RIDE 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis

So I have a new ride. Just had it Shipped from sunny Florida. It’s my grandfathers old 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. Currently has a scant 59,000 mils on it. column shift, bench seat, pleather, rides like blimp.

Only plan is to put a good stereo in it. Probably just a preamp with a Bluetooth and headphone jack. Couple subs, amps, and door speakers. Fuck the head unit and screens I play everything from the phone. Ohh I have a couple mufflers I’ll probably weld on there too. Give it a little rumble.

I actually miss my 97 Marquis a little. I wish I would have had a 3 car garage years ago. I also picked that up from my grandparents, it was mint.

These cars are great comfy cruisers.

yeah it is in super good shape. Only has a small ding on the pass side 1/4 and the clear is coming off the wheels too. No rust at all either.

dunno yet. I drove it 1/4 mile down side streets. I’m sure it will do some wicked 1 eyed jack burnouts. Lol.

it’s got some dirt buildup in weird places like around the trunk and fuel filler. It was sitting in the grass behind the house for quite a while.

I believe the only thing my grandpa changed was he put in standard rear shocks and suspension and disconnected the air leveling system.

Fuck me.. I cleared a spot around the furniture and boxes big enough for the wife’s traverse to fit in the garage. The merc is several inches longer.. lol.

Ran the car through the carwash and it helped a lot but still has embedded dirt and all the chrome is pitted.

Wheels will need to be refinished for sure.

Wife and I drove the car today to a remberance type celebration for a friend that passed away. this thing makes you want to just take your time and cruise. Nice and cushy. Lots of room. Just needs the stereo.

doing some cleanup. On the I left is a gas station car wash, scrubbing with dish soap, clay bar, a bit of polish in spots, and a coat of wax.. on the right is the best the gas station car wash could muster. Fucking dirt is just plastered onto the car. It’s not been washed or waxed in probably 10+ years.
