The headlights move up and down but the left motor makes this loud grinding noise when the headlight is closed. I did some searching and I guess there's a plastic gear that can be replaced by the motot?

Has anyone done this or had this issue that could offer some insight?

Thanks :)

Ive had to do this several times. You dont have to buy anything yet tho. Disconnect where the two pieces of metal from the headlight assembly meet the headlight motor.. rotate the motor gear 180 degrees and reattach everything. You wont need to replace anything till it goes out again.

And even those brass/metal gears dont mean it wont happen again. They can be damaged just like the plastic gears in the original motor, it just takes longer for them to go out.
