They are the most reliable car money can buy. Nothing is better.

My motor has been super-charged for almost six years, and I haven't had a single problem with it other than regular maintenance stuff (coils/plugs).

N/A, they're slow as dog shit, but world's faster than a N/A 3800.

car would also be a DD. I know they're OK in snow but do you think it'd be ok making routine trips to Chicago/Milwaukee from Gurnee? :dunno:

Mustangs weren't designed to be driven at a track only. It'll be just fine as a DD.

Solid cars for sure. In the winter they are great when you got some Blizzaks on.

Heads are kinda a waste of money on those (unless you're making huge power). If you want mods, bolt ons and maybe a blower if that's not enough.

I owned a 99 GT for 9 years, never had a single problem with it other than the normal maintenance, and 1 dealer screw up which was a nitemare. The engines are rock solid.

the older ones have non pi heads and do not respond as well but the price is much cheaper
you can swap the heads and manifold and it bumps the compression up a point
gears I believe they all have 3.27 gears I may be wrong

One day I want a v6 fbody because I dont care about going fast, the next I want to know how to mod a v8 mustang to make it faster..

Are you like ADD or something cause you don't seem to have a normal thought process?

That said, I think they are pretty solid, and my business partner has a white 02 he may be looking to sell soon. It has fairly high miles, but runs like a bauce and has been maintained well by us at the shop. Shoot him an email to get some details- [email protected]

I do believe they have issues with the gas filler neck rusting out, we replaced his last year though.

05/06's have a few fairly common issues (hood rust, diff clutch packs, ebrakes, cheap plastics), and 07+'s still seem to hold their value fairly well. I'd steer clear of S197's since you are looking at mostly sub 10K cars.

Granted I think S197's are MUCH better cars than New-Edge's, but 'you got to pay to play'.

Everyone else has already hit the nail on the head with Pre 99's being non PI headed, and the common mods etc.
