🔧 BUILD 1988 911 Hotrod Build

General Information

Picked up an 88 911 back in June. Haven't done much with it since. Just sold my M3 last week, so now the garage space is freed up.
The car was found locally. It spent it's short useful life up in Lake County. The original owner put 99,000 miles on it in about 12 years then blew the engine. The car has sat ever since. The body is in 100% original condition. There are actually no dings in the metal. No rust either.
I've got a rebuilt G50 trans for it. And a heavily modified engine. The engine case started as a Carrera 3.2, same as what this car came with originally. But is now a high compression, twin plug, carbureted 3.6. 370hp at the crank.

I'm not going to do anything to the car as far as paint. Leaving it as is. I am going to get the wheels redone in the RSR finish.

Gotten what feels like quite a bit done. Still a lot to do. Motor and transmission are almost ready to be mated up. Rear trailing arms have been completely redone. Entire A/C system has been removed. DME harness has been removed. Many many other small but needed projects have been completed. Currently working on removing the broken rear sway bar mounts.

Home stretch here. Motor and transmission are in. Just about everything below and above have been hooked up. A few small wiring issues need to be finished, Crane boxes, fuel pump....

Looking for a place to get 100 octane near O'Hare. Any one know of a place that sells it? Drove out to Barrington Rd. between 90 and Higgins a few days ago, that's too far.

Was able to put a few miles on the car. It's fast, fast enough for my purposes. The problem I was having was crap in the fuel tank causing all sorts of issues. So it's time for a new fuel tank. Problem is, to do that there are some sheet metal issues around the tank that need to be addressed before putting the new tank in. Had they just removed the battery from the car when it was parked way back when. This is pure battery acid damage.
