The resulting SLP Firehawk ran the quarter mile in 13 seconds at 106 mph, reaching sixty in 4.6 seconds. That was down to having 350 horsepower and 390 ft.-lb., thanks to the upgraded pistons, intake, exhaust, the six-speed from the C4, and a lightweight aluminum drive shaft. And while the tuning and the limited-slip differential has already turned the Firebird into a tail-happy monster, if that wasn't enough, an additional $9000 bought you an aluminum hood, a roll cage, and the Brembo brakes straight from the Ferrari F40's parts catalog.

If I recall and I am getting older. It was somewhere between $25-$30k. A bargain.

From what I remember. There was one white and green Firehawk built and one convertible Trana Am converted into a Firehawk.

I remember when SLP was selling their prototype Firehawks on their website.

The H intakes were so cool on these cars, such a better design then the normal TPI intake set up.

Crazy to buy a car with 1 5/8 headers installed, upgraded brakes, aluminum driveshaft, zf trans and gear swap from your local Pontiac dealer.

91-92 firebirds were always my fav third gen body style.

The original MSRP was $40k, which included the $20k Firebird Formula price. But there was a competition package above that for another $10k.

So maxed out in competition trim, $50k MSRP.

Big chunk of change, but basically, nothing of the stock driveline or suspension remained and you got a roll cage, and 5pt harness to go with it.
