Work truck started to lose mileage & power. Now it's pinging so bad it's going to knock the damn piston apart.
Low load, cruising, seems to be damn near constant??
Tried better fuel & even octane boost.

Talked to a few guys and there's nothing they can think of.
No check engine light & the only code is head temperature is over limit, which makes sense, it's detonating to death!!

What should we check??

Intake manifold runner actuator is my guess. Seen it on a friends ford v6 truck from the same year. Ohh also the MAF.

I don't know. His truck had terrible mileage and sounded like a box of bolts rattling around but he never mentioned any codes being thrown. He did the basics.. plugs, fuel filter, and such with no change. He took it to a mechanic and that was the problem.
