TURBO UPDATES START HERE - https://www.thechicagogarage.com/threads/01bluesnakes-2018-tt-gt350.173540/post-4278124

Sooo, couldn't wait any longer for my '94 cobra to be done, needed my fix lol. As seeing how my other turd box is moving away from 'street car' manors, I wanted something I could take out to shows, cruise, and just enjoy. I do plan to fuck this car up, so for any Shelby purists, this thread will not be your friend. I'm not a big road race guy, been there, and done that with some of my older cars. While fun, I like my short burst, lame 1/4 mile racing that takes no skill (kidding). Some may remember me, some may not, for those that do, you know what's coming lol.

I picked up the car a few weeks ago from Fargo ND, was a long trip but worth it. Car is bone stock, with 2600 miles on it. It's a lead foot gray, strip delete car, babied its whole life. Heres some pics from that journey. Left at 7am, got back at 3am that night. Was so tired, just pulled the trailer in the garage with the car and said fuck it lol.

Stop it. Stop it right now

You need that tune and E85 life lol

Are rods, pistons, and twin 66's on order yet?

Technically I have a built motor here, but then I would be stealing from the '94 and that thing will never get done ?

I do have these for the GT350 though, some new air cooled units from Comp. Just waiting on a few more items, and need to decide on a IC core.

Oh those are pretty.

They are pretty cool, first time seeing an air cooled unit from Comp, and im impressed. The center section has a port that feeds through the compressor housing, so uses air to cool the housing down. Have done plenty of their coolant cooled unit, and been great. Not having to run lines for oil or coolant is nice, i like my installs clean and clutter free lol.

Not a big update, but got my tiny battery in. First one I got was faulty, finally got a replacement. Will see how this one holds up lol. Its suppose to drop about 27lbs from stock. The mount is from Morris engineering and Antigravity battery YTX-12-24.

No turbos in yet, waiting on my wastegates and bov from Tial still

Will have more of a break down on the 15" wheel conversion, but here's a teaser pic for now lol. Lots of grinding and fitting since I like to be difficult. Not suppose to work with Weld wheels, but wasnt gonna let that stop me. Then my good idea at the time two piece rotors cost me another few hours in grinding ?

Hopefully will see you next week. I'd really like to get my car on a set of those scales sometime.

For those thinking about the 15" conversion, im gonna try and be as informative as possible with the progress and what had to be done, as there's not much out there. Now, being that my car is a GT350, and not a GT, there's some added work. The GT350 has different brakes and knuckles out back, which adds in a little more work. The E brakes setup is completely different, so if you want a functional E brake like i did, you'll need the factory cables. Good news is that Ford has them really cheap, about $30 a piece. Im not done with the conversion yet, spent a lot of time fitting and grinding, what a pain in the ass lol. Im sending out some items for re-powder coating, and going to have the rear caliper and brackets done as well. On to the pics

I ended up getting Girodisk two piece rotors out back, due to the fact they also make fronts to match, so not gonna look mismatched. The problem is the caliper bracket already sits so close, it had some serious fitment problems. I ended up having to cut the ends off the bracket, and grinding inside down, with adding a 1/16" washer behind the caliper studs to get the proper clearance. Once the bracket fit, it was on to the caliper. Of course the ribs didn't fit. So had to be ground down, and a little off the e brake hook. Weld wheels are not suppose to work with this setup, but with a little work, they will fit perfect.

Had some grinding to do on the lower control arm, as well as the toe link ends, which finally gave me clearance with wheel travel. I may still have to do some more grinding to the lower arm, but will do that once all the parts come back from costing/paint and do finally assembly. Not even half way done, would not do again ?
