Just a few cosmetic changes. Bought a coil cover and clear front timing gear cover. Waiting on the middle plastic piece to close it up. Also had a carbon fiber cooling panel made to clean up the front a bit more. Had an sp racing chrome panel that always just looked out of place. I’ll probably ditch the strut tower bar.
I took my car to a local detailer here in Texas that wanted to use it for promotional purposes for their business. Pics came out great. May be a rehash of some of the pics @Mook already posted but enjoy
So we decided to stop at 35psi. We pushed 38 but the car wasn’t making any more power. We are hitting the limits of the intake manifold or turbo. Motor and fuel system are good for 1600whp so we have the headroom if I feel I need more but for now the pt7675 spools up nicely, has a great fat powerband and the engine is not working hard to make 1100whp with 35psi and 15* of timing. I may go slightly larger turbo but it will be at a sacrifice of midrange power and response.
Car drives great btw, the response is very similar to my old 3.0/pt6765 but on spring pressure alone it makes a little more than my old setup at max boost.
Ac works great and the engine temps were very good in stop and go traffic. Not bad for a street car. The sounds this car makes is sooo different than my old setup. The little extra displacement and compression is nice for low rpm cruising. I don’t feel like I’m lugging the engine as much under 2k rpm.
A little update for you all. First wave of e85 pulls. This is only at 30psi, we are pushing up to 40psi but need to switch out injectors. Depending on the limits of the intake manifold we may stop it a little early but I’m pretty happy with these numbers considering it’s a healthy midrange curve for modest boost.
This is just the beginning. Hoping to have e85 runs tomorrow
17psi on 93oct
I know it’s been a minute but after much back and forth trying to get proefi to function we are moving on to a Motec M150 and doing a drive-by-wire conversion as well. I’m a bit bummed but the motec does offer better engine control and features so it seems to be a logical direction we take the car. We’re also putting in a newer bti multifunction display/gauge so I can see more of the motec parameters and control things like boost and traction through the screen.
She lives, some idle video. Cams sound really chop-tastic!
God damn I just want this car to hit the rollers already.
Triple 450 pumps going in. Should be complete soon’ish.
