More and more I'm tempted to just pay off my current home and stick with what we have. It's small, there is no storage, we want a bigger yard and I want a detached garage. But trying to find even close to what we want without going over the budget or moving an hour further away than we are...

with the market so out of whack I'd be holding off on buying till the pricing settles down. I bought my current home 3 months before the 2008 market bomb and even with all my updates and upgrades the house never fully recovered it's value till now with things being over inflated. I'd love to...

I've been talking about selling my house for years, one of the biggest holdups was house value's and mine was under the curve for a long time. Now that it's back to where I bought my house I'd love to sell but I just can't physically take on moving right now. So it will be my luck that when I...

Every scenario is different and people have different opinions. I personally will not do PMI on my next house, especially with the changes to how FHA loans work now. 15-20 years ago you could refi out of a FHA loan with PMI and get the PMI refunded. Now that's not an option. Also depending...

I have a 18 ft round 54" tall above ground pool about 7500 gallons, it costs me about $20 a month in electric, around $30 a month to heat it (Except mid to late summer) and about $150 -200 or so in chemicals for the year (I buy for the whole season). My brother has a 33ft oval that is half in...

Correct me if I am wrong but if you don't have the 20% or a 80/15 loan (5% down) you would need to do FHA and that comes with PMI that is now the life of the loan.

So with PMI being the length of the loans nowadays does this thought process still apply? How does the math work out paying PMI until 79% of value and then having to refinance and pray that the rates are still good? I'm curious as I have my 20% ready for the next house and just continuing to...

Didn't notice that, that would kill it for the wife instantly. I imagine it would be an assload of money to put the ductwork in and then have ugly bulkheads. Oh well.

This popped up in my email this morning. Holy fuck that is a lot of house and land for the price. It only has 2 issues that would keep me from calling my realitor. Taxes are over 9k and it's a little farther out than I would want from major expressways. But it's got me thinking. :pedobear...

As long as there is structure for the patch of drywall to attach and you do a good seam you should not know it's there after the repair.

I screwed that up, this was more like my unit, noticed the sq footage was off. Price for this one is a little high but you get the idea. https://www.redfin.com/IL/Bolingbrook/317-Summerbreeze-Ct-60440/unit-317/home/23347505

That place in DG you posted reminded me of my old townhouse. You get a 2 car attached garage as the basement and no yard but it's still relatively close to your DG location (Bolingbrook) and the same size and general layout. couldn't find my old place listed but here is another unit that...

I have GEICO (it's actually Liberty Mutual) and it was cheapest at the time I shopped around. That was about a year ago, I'm sure someone else is cheaper. I just went through GEICO as they were the cheapest for the cars/bike/house under one provider.

A few years back IN redid their property tax structure, I don't recall the specifics but a friend of mine used to pay $100 a year for his property taxes. He stated it was based on the age of the house. Now he pays around $1200, not sure if it's based off the assessment now or what. I'll have...
