Dan & Joel, where do you do your riding at?

Kettle is the best close stuff. Very organized, groomed and mapped out by the park district. If you want local trails that are fun for an hour or so there's some decent stuff in sterns woods. It's close enough to just ride from my house there.

Dan joy I plan on hitting up palos a few times this year. I've got a friend who lives somewhat nearby. I've been there in the past and it's fun.

I'd check your local shop; especially now. With it still being cold and new models coming out they're bound to have some last years stuff around. Otherwise performance bike always has good deals.

Kettle is pretty extreme for a bmx bike. Lots of climbs and rocks/roots.

Sterns woods is pretty tame as far as steep climbs. The descents are decently long and flowing for being local trails. The single track is fairly smooth and debris free.

i wanna go ride. but im a big sally and wont keep up just yet... when i was younger (14-15-16)i would ride my bike absolutely evvverywhere. now im fat and discovered beer so id prolly die at first.

i wanna get back into it tho. my bike needs someone to look at it that knows what they are doing.

I can do that... I used to be all over BMX stuff and have done several bikes. More than capable of tearing down all the major components, cleaning out bearings, repacking them w/grease and reversing the process.... as well as aligning all the shifting stuff... Drag that thing over and we can drink beer and tear her down.

fuck yes. sweet dude.

ya i have a trek 4300 alpha (i kind of think you have the same bike in your garage?? or maybe someone else does?) and the dealio is that it shifts goofy. like doesnt enjoy going into the correct gear i guess i could say. also had this issue where the left crank arm would occasionally fall the fuck off. i think the loctite fixed that tho.
