I have a question for anyone who knows:

OK so if you have 99 weeks of unemployment, how long do you have to work again before your able to claim another 99 weeks?

I have herd it was 6 months. Is this correct?

So like I could go on unemployment for 99 weeks, after it runs out work some place for 24 weeks and then go back on unemployment for another 99 weeks?

I mean if so, why would anyone really want to work full time all the time?

We could all just live off the tax payers. OK I'm just kidding but it seems like something is wrong with the whole system. Sorry

Last I heard it was 90 days.

because your benefits are based off your pay.. collect the 99 weeks then go work at mcdonalds and get fired = shit benefits. you have to have a good paying job again for atleast 3 months.. and who the eff gets fired on purpose to collect again? (i realize youre not saying you would)

Most places like McDonalds wouldn't hire you FT anyway unless you worked at corporate

They are based off pay, but IIRC the "high" pay standard is not that high. I think for max benefit you only need to make like mid $20K.

welp. lots has happened

had some interviews at this place called www.opticsplanet.com - didnt get the position- kind of glad i didnt- it would have been in northbrook- and the company was rather "cult" like...

i went in for an interview one day- the lady sat me down to do some forms- said shed be back in 10 minutes- an HOUR AND A HALF went by- and no one was there- so i was like fuck this- got up and walked to the reception counter to try to find her...

she came back about 20 minutes later (almost 2 hours from when she left me) and was like "um excuse me, but this is a secure environment, we cannot just have some stranger wandering around, when i tell you to sit somewhere you stay there" i was like uh " you were gone for an hour and a half- i had other appointments today, and was running out of time to waste- i wont move next time, but you left me for far too long.."...

so yeah went back for 2 more interviews- didnt get it. o well..

then (new post cuz totally different) I had applied with this position for scotts- merchandiser/product counselor- basically i go around home depot to walmart- etc- and organize shit- and heckle customers into purchasing it...

well had an "interview" guy gave me a drug test and was like you have 36 hours to complete this i wwas like uhhhh... (id pass without a doubt- i dont do that stuff) but i didnt have time to go to schaumburg to get the test done- about a week later- their hr called me and congratulated me on getting the job and told me i had to get a drug test :wtf: so i went along with it- oh okay sounds good- got tested- went fine- blah-

fast forward- a week- didnt hear from anyone- then i get an email (computer generated) introducing me to scotts as a company and some online training i had to do (wtf) so do it- get it done (no manager, boss, etc has been in contact with me) this was two weeks ago...

now. this past thursday i was like wtf- call the guy who i interviewed and hes like "dur... sorry meant to call you (been two weeks since i was "hired") i will talk to you friday or saturday and let you know what we will be doing this coming week"

okay whatever- people get busy- no big deal.

he doesnt call me friday, or saturday, or sunday, until 8PM! last night! and then leaves me a voicemail TELLING ME TO BE IN PALATINE THIS MORNING BY 730.

ooooh okay guy ( i had interview today and other things to do- you cant tell me with under 12 hours notice to be somewhere)

so now i get to call this guy back and be like uh hey dude. you cant call me 11 hours before i start bullshit to be somewhere i wont make it to- like wtf.

soooo now. just had interview with enterprise... ya shitty job- but good mgmt program- decent money- something employers look for-

but now have follow up interview wednesday... so excited for that.

i have been applying a lot online... just by what interests me pretty much and that i could tollerate doing.

Probably not what you're looking for, but Menards offers a manager trainee program. Basically you spend 12 weeks shadowing 4 different managers and doing other stuff related to policies, etc, and then typically get promoted to a manager. You need a business degree to get in, but I dont know the specifics of it, but it can turn into a long term thing.
Just sayin. I know at least at my store we're starting to hire people for the summer. Might be something you could do while you look for something else.

Dunno if a Business Administration degree covers HR but if you're interested in working in Afghanistan for a lot of money, you can apply with the company I work for.

I would apply for all of these. All of these positions should be over 100k a year. Same benefits/vacation apply that I posted in my firefighter job information thread.

Kandahar, yikes. :noes:

All of the Afghanistan postings except ones for Kabul will says Kandahar because it is the central hub for our base. Odds of anyone staying at KAF are slim to not happening, you'll be sent to a FOB (Forward Operating Base).

And funny your name is Frank Dukes, I watched Bloodsport yesterday. Also, if that's what you were going for his name was spelled Dux.
