So I plan on getting set of 17x9.5/18x10.5 Machined C5 Deep Dish rims in the next month or two for my Trans Am. I have a new pair of 275/40/17's for the front already and will just need two rear tires for these things... the problem Im running into is that, it seems like every single tire I look up to fit this set up in the 305 or 315 range runs around $300 per tire (street or drag radial). Ive never even taken my car to the track, so running a drag radial really isnt something I'd care about.

Now I plan on going with these rims no matter what (even if I have to throw down like $600 for two tires), but Im just wondering if anyone has any form of deal on tires they can get their hands on for this size?

+1 on used.

also...

make sure you look at specs on the tires because just going by sidewall ratings won't cut it...i noticed that some 315/30/19s (just to give an example) have less tread contact area than some 295/30/19s...

tirerack does a real good job on all that stuff

i bought 2 x 305/30/19s pirelli pzero rossis (about 400 a piece new) with 70% life left for 100 bucks a pop shipped. can't go wrong.

Its actually more of.. filling out the rear wheel well more than anything at this point. If you look at this picture of my TA with my current 17x8.5 C6 rims on there with 275s.. they sit so far in the wheel well and it looks ridiculous. Im sure the shape of the rim doesnt help this.

Id be ok with 295s on those 18x10.5 rims Im getting in the rear. Its not like I need the traction, the cars not putting down anymore than 320 at the wheels.

My TA is also lowered, so Im sure im going to have to pound in the wheel well no matter what I get lol

Yeah, you probably will. Some guys don't have to, some guys do. I had to and I'm at stock ride height.

Also, your panhard bar is the adjustable one right? I know my one side was a little closer to rubbing than my other. I had to adjust the panhard a little to center them up a little better.

If you care more about pushing in and out then just make sure the offset of the wheels will push it more towards the outside of the wheel well. At worst you can use spacers but some people don't like doing that.

Did they heat up the paint on yours? Projectx did mine and it only chipped in one small part.

I don't think they did. I kinda expected it to happen and its on the inside of the rolled area so it's not visible to the eye. How is projectX. I hear nothing but good things about them in the z community.

I wouldn't do spacers if you don't have too. I'd rather bang up the inside fender wall then have less thread for my rear tires to sit on the studs

Did a good job, if you heat up the paint it makes a big difference at least when I have seen it done. Great guys and a great price. Have my rears rolled from them without any problems.

Spacers I would only use extended lugs or bolt on hubcentric spacers with their own lugs built into them. Run a small 5mm spacer in front for some extra clearance with my suspension without a problem.
