Would you rather: Have a DD/Toy, or 2 separate cars

With the US dollar becoming more de-valued every day it will not take long for oil to double in cost. The production of that oil will cost more as well.

I will be surprised if it hits $5 a gallon by 2012 with out major events. But then again look what they pay a liter for gas in the UK and other parts of the world. Just some thing to think about.

They pay that much because the gov't there taxes the shit out of it, has nothing to do with the actual cost of the oil. You think the value of the dollar is going to half in a couple years? If that's the case, we have a lot more to worry about than gas prices.

I've always been one to have multiple cars, but with the amount of time I spend at school and work now, I've decided it would just be better to have one car that I like driving all the time, and will be good in the winter. I recently sold my Alfa, Dakota, and my Jeep will be for sale in the spring and I will be getting into one truck that I'll be driving all the time (07-08 Tahoe)

I confess you are part of the reason why I made this thread, thinking about your Diff and head issues etc...

So can you ship that power supply? :hs:, i tried calling back but your phone was dead.

I'll have to admit that when you dropped off that case I grabbed everything I could use out of it, which didn't include a tiny power supply. It went out with the trash about 1/2 hour after you left :sadwavey:

You had mentioned that hard drive, so when you sent a text and I tried calling etc I was just trying to let you know I didn't have it any longer.

On another note I did fix the usb front ports -- I hacked the one that came off the old case and desoldered some parts until I could cut it down and make it fit. The old board behind those ports looked burnt and smelled of burning plastic.

I think a toy and a DD are necessary, especially if the toy is highly modified. As others have stated, having your only DD car down for a mod (or repair) really sucks. Also, learn from my mistake, do not get another car for your DD that you'll want to mod. It is too tempting to start throwing mods on that car and then having two cars that could have problems. I'm hoping the stuff I did recently to my DD doesn't come back and bite me in the ass.

I have my Camaro (toy) and my Durango R/T ( DD ) but the durango must go I cant have both getting under 12mpg

thats my same dilema... 15mpg DD Sucks chunks, it'll squeak out 17 on the higihway...... Granted, I am curious what my MPG will be like when it gets nicer outside and if I granny it... If I can get 20 on the highway out of this beast it may be a different story come spring as far as keeping it.........

Its all fun and games until you start modding your DD because you have to drive it all the time and want moar pah! I have put more $$ into my truck in '10 than I have in the SS since 2001. Im honestly considering a tvs1900 for the truck too...:noes: 10sec plow truck FTW!

As long as you know where to stop with the DD then it's not so bad. My daily has a piggyback tune and intake. I have downpipes on the shelf and will order an intercooler. Nothing past that is going on this car unless I get another DD.

Yep... I COULD do more to the GTP, I just need to not think about it.

I think I'm going to buy a DD once I get moved, driving my T-Bird daily has become a chore.

Much like everyone else, keep your DD and toy seperate. The nice thing about my DD is it is basically unmodable, I may throw on a short shifter, but that's just to make life a little easier around town. As for my toy, i have to stabilize my job before I start thinking about getting one, and have been looking around for things to do...SVO engined ranger...fix up poopshinanigons SVO....miata....E30 sedan...oh the possibilities

DD, toy(s) it's just hard to keep the DD from getting modded or learn to do just tasteful mods that still keep the car reliable. Ex. Intake exhuast maybe rockers and a tune. It can suck though paying for multiply insurances.

That's exactly the route I'm trying to go. Just enough that it doesn't affect the reliability of DD'ing the car.
