I'm sure it'll be fine, you guys overreact because you're trying to prove a point, we get it, he should have done this, should have done that, but guess what? He didn't, and probably won't. So let it go

I do find it quite ironic that you of all people are proclaiming this about letting things go and stop trying to prove a point :hsughlol:

The point is, you're preaching to a wall

he slapped together this build ASSuming the machine shop did things right.
james, im sure this is a huge shocker...but he didnt read any of your posts. probably because they were long winded and didnt make sense to him. no need to get irked and bent out of shape

accually i read everything and it did make sense because i do understand. dont think im dumb. i know what im doing. i agreed i dont know as much as you do but lets see im 19 and still learning so give me a fucking break. if it breaks ill fix it

the reason why you learn from others is that it doesnt cost you...a motor
your learning bad habbits that a shop looking to hire a tech, does not want. ive been there, they dont last long

eric has a 3 piece forged piston sitting on his nightstand to remind him to ask for help....that was only a 2500dollar lesson (not counting the tow, buying another car for a daily driver or the new motor)

i hope at the least you learned to use a notebook to take notes and pictures for a visual record....maybe next time youll catch it when the machine shop installs plugs that werent there with the oem unit.

so im guessing you never even pulled the lifter holders out and rocked the lifters in the bores eh?

I'm 19 aswell and am a newb still. I ask questions and have people look over my work to make sure it's right! No harm in asking for help or taking peoples advice that have been on this earth 3x as long as you have and have been dealing with 3800s for years now. They told you to return all that shit from the get goo. But you being 19 was all worked up with momma credit card and bought all that useless shit to build a "fast" car and screwed yourself now because you built a car in a matter of 3 days that you worked day and night on and didn't have anyone check it over cause you thought what you learned at school was right. That build shoulda took a lot longer than that if u did it all right and checked it over. All of these guys on here know WTF there talking about and I'm sure were a phone call away but your stubbornness gotcha on this one. Shoulda just did a turbo build woulda been faster than whatever the fuck your build is now. I'll buy the IC off you if it makes you feel any better. Shoulda listened to the guys when they said return it! But you didn't! Lesson learn. Sell that ugly ass hood to fund a new engine.
