Well if it's not dependent on the number of people using a network then why did it used to be awesome then get bad over the course of a year/ year and a half?

The email thing seems to be a specific issue most likely for only a select few like yourself. :dunno:

I'm not an iPhone nutswinger by any means just an owner. I'll have to weigh the pros/cons in 6 months when it's time for a new phone...

Just got a 3GS, camera sucks... Signal is terrible... Other than that I am okay with it.

My wife's sprint phone (EPIC) is awesome. She eats the battery, but that is because at work the phone is in a cave (searching for signal) and she uses it A LOT. My brother has the EVO and he loves it. Not as many battery issues though.

Android is just better for the advanced user or a person that likes to tinker. That being said I have not jail broken the iPhone and from what I hear it does "even" things up a bit.

I love my Epic 4g. The battery life is great once you figure out the tricks. Don’t keep 4g on unless you need it since it drains the battery. 3G speed is very fast.

As for AT&T service, it’s horrible and consistently gets rated that way in comparisons. My friends in the city are always dropping calls. Once Verizon gets the iPhone, there will be a mass exodus from AT&T. You get the best of both worlds IMO…The iPhone and a reliable network.

It cracks me up that all the people at work constantly plugging their android phones in.

Very guilty of this. At work my phone is always plugged in. At school it was a battle to find an outlet halfway through the day. Though it drains so fast cause i'm online, playing music, and games for a solid hour and a half during a class.

I might consider an iphone if not for AT&T instead I have one of the older mytouch 3g's that is rooted with 2.1 on it right now. Battery life is like 2-3 days based on use. Reception with tmobile is amazing.

Company switched our work pagers (blackberrys with no call out) from tmobile to at&t and now I have to run mine on wifi to get work/server alerts in my apartment. Not impressed. I think the Iphone 4 would have sold even more if not for the network it is on.

im thinking eagles phone had a legitimate problem... my phone has incredible signal... in fact my ip4 has dropped less calls than my other 2 iphones and certainly less than my like 10 sprint phones before it. i dont go to downtown chicago much and i hear att is bad there, so that could be the deal breaker. otherwise theres a reason the ip4 is the benchmark for all other phones to be compared to... it just works. Mook even tried to defend the battery life of his android phone by saying that people dont know how to manage apps. well i think thats just rediculous.. why should i have to manage apps? isnt it supposed to be a smart phone? it should manage those apps by itself. i would fall under the heavy user category and i can easily go 2 days on a charge. and thats streaming pandora for close to 5-6 hours a day and multitasking over to facebook... and then people all say how android is more "open"... well last i checked you can get the same apps on both phones so that argument is prettymuch null. one thing i will say is that i use facetime ALOT and there is simply no comparison between it and... and... and.. well whatever the hell else android calls it.... oh thats right you need to download some app, hope your buddy has the same one, set it all up with accounts and such, and then deal with how shitty and laggy it is.

I say evo, but I do own an iPhone. Im not really going to back it up versus an evo though.

I like the iPhone because im on tmobile. I get $10 unlimited data (no 3g). I also enjoy the perks of having the phone jailbroken. BUT I hate itunes and most of all I hate MACS.

I think Macs are alright...Not great, but something along the lines of alright. iTunes...I hate it as well. Actually, to be honest. I haven't really been syncing my 3gs through iTunes for about a year. (Excluding fw 4.0 update, and just a few days ago when I HAD to restore my phone which made it 4.2.1 and wiped EVERYTHING clean including SIM card).

As for the reception issue in the City....I agree. I usually go there quite often and always notice dropped signal strength. There's very few places here and there that I have absolutely NO signal. But for the most part I always have enough signal to make/receive calls, and actually use my phone. I do get A LOT of dropped calls, however it does seem SLIGHTLY less frequently now. :dunno:

In the end...I say i4. I was actually deciding between BOTH of these phones. I always wanted to try out an Android phone, and I do like how useful iphones are for me. (actually using them for what I want/need). I actually may pick one up tomorrow since my battery on my 3gs is kind of messed up. At least once or twice a day it just shuts off (even with +/- 50% battery life left). I had to restore a few days ago since it went into an endless boot cycle.

I say i4...you'll be happy overall. ALTHOUGH....You DO have 30 days from when you buy the phone to return it/exchange it.

I dont seem to have any issues anywhere in the city on At&t. Once in a while I have issues in my building downtown(all people on att), but once I step outside all is well. Normally everything is good at work and home. Guess us employee's get better signal/service.. :s00ls:

So you work for AT&T then...do you know if there are going to be any special deals on the iphone 4 anytime soon? Cause I'm eligible now for my upgrade but if the price is going to drop or there are going to be any special offers soon I'll just hold out for that.
