WTB Cam for 92 Camaro SS

Probably would be better to put a different motor in it. Check out JEGs or Summit for a cam. They got lots of 3rd gen parts.

They don't have a SS in 92. Its probably a RS.

92 its either rs or z28. rs was only had with a 305 tbi. please do not spend the money on the 305. find a vortec 350 from a late 90s truck, get a nice cam, intake, and carb for it and youll be much better off in the long run

Yup, no way it's an SS, IROC could be had with a TPI 305 but the last year for the IROC was 90. If it's an RS the TBI 305 makes under 200 hp. I would swap a junk yard 350 B2L, L98 or LT1 before I would even consider modding a TBI in any form what so ever. If it is a Z28 with the TPI 305 then comp makes cams for them, I would call them driectly or possibly Summit.

Correct, the highest HP stick option was a TPI 305 which made 230 compared to the 350's 240. The torque was much less though. Some argue that the TPI 305 M5 was faster than the 350 A4, I've never known that to be the case.

my 91 305 tpi 5 speed bone stock ran a 15.0 with a 2.2 60', but it wasnt a g92, so single cat, 3.08s. some people say the g92 cars had different cams too, but i dont know if that was ever proven. anyways it was rated at 210 i think.

i have a large comp solid roller NOS cam and a set of L98 iron heads with matching springs. id let the whole package go for a good price, and we can also install.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Again, this isn't even my car and I'm no camaro expert so I am just going by what he told me so I am going to get the real model from him soon. I am pretty sure like some of you said he is going to need to swap the springs as well. AS for you Daturbosix, my bud is a mechanic and is doing the work he just needed me to find something cause he's not from round these parts, but I will let you know. I have a hyd. Roller from an '89 L98. I'm not sure if it's stock or an upgrade. Either way it's an upgrade for a 305. If you're set up for a factory roller cam, this would be the way to go.
