Winter rims? Mine help by coming with the car all scraped up and curb rashed.

Mine are in good shape, but they are 17s instead of 18s so I get a bit more cushion in the tire.

Mine are the stock 16's and the tires are a 205/55/16. Way softer ride but also way wobbly and more road noise. My summers are 225/45/17's and are quiet but a much firmer ride.

Agreed, that is retarded. Let's see, spend $1k on wheels and tires (or $500 if you just need tires) or trade in a car and roll in $3-5k loss from your previous car.

EDIT: I guess short term it is cheaper to trade it in, but it will cost you more money in the long run. Not everyone is a baller and has $500 laying around.

I definitely take more chances with cutting around corners and parking near curbs with my winter set-up.

17" instead of 19". The ride quality is much better and there is less rotational mass.

Stock steelies FTW 225/75r15 summer rims 255/55r17's can go up to 285

I looked for a set of 15" steelies for my car but no luck. Snow tires are like $48 each in a 15.

The wife came back and told me the Blizzaks I put on the Regal are incredible. I took the Regal out last Saturday to the bars and drove home on unplowed/salted roads and had no issues stopping or turning, even when I tried to push it. Blizzaks are the shit, better than the Hancooks on the Corolla!

its not even so much that they are the 6 lug... its more the caliper clearance because i could use srx steelies if not for the brakes

Why chance it? Hell for the price of your insurance deductible you can put a set of snow tires on your truck and not have the issue of your truck being wrecked, and you possibly hurting yourself/someone else.
