I decided I'm going to be doing restaurant reviews for TCG.
We went to Big Bowl at The Streets of Woodfield. So it was my buddy's b-day tonight so he invited me to dinner with his family. I'm pretty close to them so it's like eating with my own family. We had 5 adults and 2 kids.
This being a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant I expected more.
LEY restaurants include Maggiano's, Tru, Wildfire, Wow Bao, and many more.
So as we walk in we were greeted by 4 or 5 host/hostesses. uhhhhh ok.
Service: I think the host stand said more to me than our waitress tonight. She was detached and seemed tired with faking to be upbeat. We sat down after a few people were already there, she didn't say her name, didn't say hello, just asked us with what type of drinks we wanted. She didn't list them off. She was reaching over me which I can understand at a booth but we were at a round table. She was like this ALLLL NIGHT LONGG! alll nightt! good song btw. sorry. It seemed like this was just a job and she didn't really care. I've said all I needed to for her service. I feel if you're not in high school and work in the culinary industry serving or cooking you need to have a LITTLE passion or at least care about your job.
Food: I got the HOMEMADE ginger ale. it was so good, it tasted like real ginger, it was sweet, and I recommend it if you ever visit. It was nothing like Canada Dry. The appetizers were luke warm and not hot. We got the spare ribs, egg rolls, and pot stickers. All were pretty good. Like the full title of the restaurant it was all fresh and pretty tasty. I got the Orange chicken for my entree and the only complaint I have about it was it wasn't warm, not hot when it came out, again like the appetizers. Overall it was good, I wouldn't go bananas over it. I think my orange chicken was like 13 dollars. The average entree is 10-15 dollars around there.
Atmosphere: This is a place that is not fully lit up. It is a little dark but enough light to see menus, people, and the food in front of you. Just the right amount. The tables with the leafs that fold under were pretty droopy which is par to most restaurants hahahah. It was a little loud but I don't really mind. Almost every table was filled up.
Very last nobody said goodbye as we left. sigh. It was ok, I would recommend it because with a different server I would've had a better time. The luke warm food was also and debbie downer on the points. I give it a 6.5/10.
So enjoy! Let me know if you have been here and tell me what you think.
