As a few of you know I seem to have nothing but issues with HID kits from various 3800 vendors. Ballasts going out, bulbs going out. Brand new kits right from the vendor not working. In the end I was running a kit that was pieced together by different warranty replacement parts. Anyway I bought a HID kit from LS1 vendor and I am happy to say Ive used it for more than a year with NO ISSUES. Although, A few weeks ago a ballast went out, no big deal. I was very happy I had these this long with no issues. I got new ballast under warranty and installed. Just my luck then the other/older ballast went out like clockwork. I wasn't very ******d at this point and didn't really want to deal with the warranty return again so I tried to track down where this LS1 vendor got these kits from. I wanted another kit, and wanted it fast. Right from the supplier/manufacture. Not to mention the kit as kinda pricey from the vendor. Found the kit was made by DDM Tuning. They have very reasonable priced kits backed by a lifetime warranty.

Example: 9007 Kit with no upgrades $25 (or $35 for slim ballasts) 55w ballasts +$10. They have many sizes and 3000K-12000K available.

Just wanted to get the word out, I had very good luck with a DDM HID Kit. You cant lose with those prices either, a HID kit cheaper than a pair of silverstars. :bowrofl:

I have had the DDM kits on my GXP in the lows and fogs for a year now with no issues what so ever.

I was very happy with what I got so I bought a kit for the GTP and got my friend with a TBSS to buy the same kit and he has had no issues either.

For the price, quality and warranty you can not beat this HID kit

The only thing holding me back is A. The warranty of my car B. I've heard of issues from other Fusion owners that some of the HID kits will melt the housings. Although I've been told to use the lower wattage bulb and everything should be ok. Just seems like a waste having projectors with halogens.

How do you have so many problems? I bought the first set I could find on ebay for ~$40 for the kit and never had any issues.

I did the same thing again for the burb, but I bought on amazon. Got a 55w kit for ~$60 shipped and again, no issues.

You're doing it wrong.

Luck I guess.. Maybe some vendors just resell junk kits, IDK. You cant install them wrong.

I went with these guys for the HID kit I just put in the car last week to replace a kit I had in there for about three years. Yeah the DDM kit was cheap and fires up with no problem, but one bulb is slightly whiter than the other. Haven't contacted them yet about it, but for $40 or whatever, I'm not too concerned.

I had an off brand 35watt with 5K bulbs in my headlights, but then I bought a 55watt with 3k bulbs from DDM. I put the 55watt ballast in with my headlights and used the old 35watt ballast with the 3k fog lights. The lights work great but now one of my headlights is more of a purple and the other is the same color as before.

What ever kit you installed on the caprice is still working flawlessly(knock on wood). Still constantly get people flashing their brights at me thinking I have the brights on:rofl: this happens atleast every two weeks depending on if I'm out at night driving.

Running 55w 5kk 9007 hi/lo Phantoms? (not the ddm slims) from ddmtuning.com in the Vic right now, big difference over stock. The highs are just right, the only complaint, due to the nature that it physically moves the "bulb" in and out to do hi and lo, high is a little bouncy, but, perhaps I don't have them in the housing correctly. Plus the pass side is bouncy partially because my brother backed into my car............Anyway. They shipped in about a week, and weren't too difficult, for me at least, to install. No melting issues. They seem to be as warm as stock, maybe a little warmer, but nothing noticeable. Plus, if you get the hi/lo kit (if applicable) they give you a harness to go from the battery and to interface with the headlight connectors. But you may on occasion get the occasional flasher, however it is fun blinding the shit out of them with the highs (I have it out for the people who don't know how to aim headlights or leave their highs on...)

Your stock bulbs 35w or 55w? I wouldn't worry about your warranty....it's not like HIDs are going to ruin your engine

Love DDM Tuning. Put in over 4 kits and have friends that bought them too. Cheap and awesome. Sometimes they have sales too. Get the 4500s for pure white and the 5000s for just a hint of blue in the housing, but still pure white. The 35ws are bright enough and you don't need a harness, but if you go 55w get the harness. (but totally unnecessary)
