🔧 BUILD toyota wagon 3800

General Information

imma hack this bitch together in one month, and it'll take down dd's TR, HK's TR, pandawgs and 10sec's stock junk

:jg:

This started as a joke....and it still is....laughable at least....

But here is an index of what is going on with the 3800 insanity

Removal of 5mge/4spd auto.

only problem is it would look good for like 2 weeks then slowly turn back into the shape it is now :hs:

If you have heat in the garage while working on this thing, I wont lend a mechanical hand, but I'll bring some detailing supplies over and go to town for a bit... rather do that then get in your way with the engine work

haha it's had what 6 years to get where it is now, im sure it'll stay clean driving in the rain with all that pah

i just realised how shitty the sleeper effect would be if i cant stuff it completly under the oem hood

anyone remember a 3800 into toyota thread on cgp? search sucks and i cant remember what forum it was in (im thinking offtopic)
kinda wondering whether he used the toyota interior And engine fuse panels

ive been going through the wiring diagrams and it looks like it might be easier and cleaner if i use a gm power dist block with its easier to find fuses, current load for the interior stuff isnt bad since i will be deleting the auto seatbelts (try and find a 84 cressida limit switch for the drivers side forward track in the a pillar) or try and find a micrositch that fit into a cm^2

why the hell am i doing this, im a cheep fuck, ill just cutout some junkyard seatbelts and safetypin em together

and the emergency brake works great, so no worries about them pesky toyota brake and wot issues
:jg:

btw some prelim measurements show if i do it right i might not have to shorten the driveshaft, ill just need a jerry rigged cross instead of cuting and welding on the larger joint mate

dave said he'll be coming over at 730 ish so maybe we'll clean the trans and take the hillbilly mobile over to the car wash

i have soooo many things in my garage its like a journey of discovery just cleaning this joint lol

im game, supposedly this liveaxle rearend can handle some power, but i doubt it, i have a narrow track amc D44 under the shelves somewhere when i break shit

It can take abuse...I had an '81 Corolla with what I think is the ame axle, and I beat the piss out of it. I had squirters built into my rear wheelwells to spray liquid to do my neutral drop smokeshows...never had a problem with the trans or rearend...blew several flexplates though. (high school...gotta love it)

Yeah, but n-bombs are pretty bad...I doubt you'd hammer it it that hard. Car was also jumped (airborne) A LOT. You could really launch that light little car, and it had a great balance. My next car was a '77 GP...tried jumping that and it was ugly...never lauched another car since.

drivers side is gonna require a little work for the header....maybe...nah
driverssideengine.jpg

pass side is huge....lots of room...hmmm...nah
passsideengine.jpg

damn 3/4 inch too tall with the stock (short) Ln3 oil pan (alot shorter)
this isnt gonna be a problem
34inchtootall.jpg

cause this shit can get cutup and reworked...i might flip it forward so i can have a central deep sump pan using a longer SI/SII oil pickup
the pan is sitting on the K member with a screwdriver holding it level, i does look like i can flip it but ive been engineering a better solution and will strengthen the frontend with those wimpy radius rods
yougonnagetcut.jpg

here's the bad news...i gotta retube the driveshaft...cant move the trans back any more without really hacking the tunnel...welll if i gotta retube it anyways, i might as well check one last dimention
gottaretubethedriveshaft.jpg

ohhhh my, plenty of room for improvement :pedobear:

ok so dd we got about an 9 inch or so clearance behind the radiator...i can run a pusher fan in front of the radiator, so uhhh buddy ol'e pal *nudge*
