no offense but i dont get why people are pissed with these things blow a tranny...i knew about it before i bought mine...just saying....

also, why put a stock tranny in a sell it...it will cost the same amount (if not less) to put a built one in...plus you dont have to worry about problems with a new truck (assuming you buy used even some new)

and furthermore my SS got 17.1MPG hwy and 15.8MPG (combined) stock and after brandons tune and efan setup...now i get 19MPG hwy and 15.2MPG (combined) not bad IMO...jeeps are about 4MPG less and CANNOT tow!! the only reason i did not buy one of them instead

Think what you want guys but A. I wasn't surprised and B. It's my money and I'm the one stuck a decent way from home and can't afford to be in a rental car for long AND pay for the repairs. It's the cheaper route as it sits and the OEM trans is what's being done with a warranty on the new trans. If you all think that there should be a built tranny in my truck then buy it and put one in. It'll be for sale soon enough.

Yes I'm still stuck in DeKalb and I can get the OEM trans in and have the car back by Thursday or Friday (maybe, I do speak dealership so that's pushing my luck). Instead of being stuck in a rental car for extra days and spending more money on that plus more for a built trans to be put in and have them jack me for labor. The purpose of this thread was not for random fucks to inject their opinions as fact when theyre not the ones going thru it and literally stuck and burning vacation days to get a loan for some of the cost of repairs. I'm stuck in DeKalb, JUST got a friggin rental car and have to burn another half day of vacation time to get the shit for the loan taken care of. This sucks a bag of dicks and to top all this shit off my girlfriend is pissed at me because I'm frustrated to no end and yelled at her for no reason so flowers would probably help. Now accepting those donations......jerkoff.

damn.

tried to copy and paste a 1800flowers.com email i just got with some good deals...

i think everyone here, in a twisted way was more over just trying to help... that is why in all honesty I brrought up getting a built trans for it... becasue if i were in your position- getting a loan and all- I would maybe get the loan for a few more dollarrs and get a built one put in, and keep the thing around forever, because nothing else would go out and it would be reliable as fuck.

i would guess i was one of those random fucks....too bad you are in a bad mood and are taking it out on everyone else....life sucks deal with it - i commented on the fact that if i had to pay a dealer to install a factory one of go aftermarket....i would go aftermarket!! at that point you did not specify it was going to be under warranty...so then yes that is the option i would have gone with since its "free".... but also i commented on gas mileage because somebody asked...also commented on the srt8 as i was looking at one of those too before i bought the SS - good day

Since when is "out of warranty" and "out of pocket" mean it's covered??? Yea I'm in a shitty mood and yes I was frustrated and venting....I apologize for being a dick and if I offended anyone. I can't wait the extra time to get an aftermarket/built one put in because the cost of the rental car would end up capsizing the cost of the repairs and I'm further up the creek without a paddle or the money to buy a paddle. Come next year if I still have the trans I'll drop it and rebuild it or just throw a new one in there when I have the time and money. Unfortunatly at the current time I'm broke as a joke because I was double or triple paying bills and didn't have the cash in hand to be able to wait and in this case time literally is money.......give me time I'll have the money (and then some). As I stated before, I don't beat on my truck and the failure is somewhat normal (albeit ridiculous) but the new trans comes with a full warranty so if this one shits the bed it's covered, hence why a OEM trans and me not whooping the unholy fuck out of my car should be just fine if I decide to keep the SS. I don't run my car hard and I don't have anything I need to know at the track so that combined with the ease of what's going on although not optimal for the weak link in my drivetrain doesn't sit right with some it suits me fine.
