734 isn't top teir.... above 810 is top tier, but 6k down on a 10k loan, must have been an old car, or a very lame bank

wat, I thought 720+ is top?hmm maybe its 740+?

810, wtf, thats almost impossible if the scale only goes to 850 right

Nah dude, not impossible, 740+ is good, but top tier, IE Walk on water credit, is like 810+ ( I could be wrong and it is 800+ or 790+, but it is up there) scale goes to 850, so you can get 850 :gtfo2:....:wavey:

Same deal here. I was on-time with all bills, good income...higher than 750 score. I was turned down for a $5K loan on a scooter I planned on commuting with. I was like WTF?

Glad it was turned down though...I got laid off like 3-4 weeks after.

When I bought the G8 (May 2009), the finance guy just asked me what my income level was. I'm sure they did a credit check, and at the time it was a little over 800, I want to say around 805-810. I have zero credit card debt and had a mortgage for six years (never a late payment). But now that my mortgage is to my mom, I don't think I'm building up the credit since personal loans probably don't get reported to a credit agency. I just write out a check to her each month, so really no one knows if I paid on time or at all. The plus side is that if I ever had money problems, my mom will probably be more forgiving than Bank of America.

I just checked mine.....it sucks

690. Apparently my credit card is killing me. Probably cause I use it for everything then pay it off every month. Maybe I should get my limit raised.

I don't think paying off the card is negatively affecting your credit. I never carry a balance and I have almost flawless credit.

The only thing I can think of is that you max your card out each month and pay it off. I think the creditors see that as a negative. I don't remember the rule, but it has something to do with having a maxed out card at any time. Credit reports are run at a given time. If it just so happens to be before you paid it in full, being that close to your max could hurt your credit.
