I got a really good deal on some forged pistons, rods, and a crank. It also comes with ARP studs/bolts. I hadn't planned on building a new motor so soon, but the price was right. I could really sit on the parts for a year and wait for the motor to go naturally, but I'd like to get some money for it.
Shibby - If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get for your old motor?
Anyway, I have a list I'm going to have to put together in the next month or two if I want to get this project rolling by the spring.
Here is what I can think of so far:
Smallest pulley I can find
Upgraded fuel pump
Bigger injectors
New block worthy of at least 600whp
I'm definitely going to consult Tim from Mr. Norm's garage. I'm going to have him tune it, so maybe he can throw me a few pointers about getting it ready for tuning. It's not going to put out crazy power since I'm staying with the stock heads/cams for now. I'm guessing it will be around 500whp on pump gas.
I'm picking up the parts from the Byron area tonight, so I'll be skipping Luke's for a good reason.
