lol... this may be true. i went to two games last year and i can tell you he definitely has the potential. with the new offensive coaching and a little help on the o-line we will be in business. atleast 10 wins which will be plenty to get into the playoffs in our division. especially if that god damned favre doesnt come back.

If anyone thinks the Bears will go to the playoffs this year, with the Vikings and Packers bringing what they SHOULD have, is nuts.

Not saying it won't happen, but to think they have a legitimate or even good chance seems nuts to me.

Im hopeful for this season. There were a few games last year that we lost simply because of those interceptions. Hell, we got 9 wins two seasons ago with a team that I feel isnt as good as this years can be. Im excited just to see how this new offense works for them.

:werd: Im not claiming superbowl, but I think playoffs are within reach.

ya....cutler did so much for us last season

Cutler had no blocking last season. Our O-line last year was absolutely fucking horrible. You think it's a coincidence that Cutler has a terrible year, with constant pressure, and Forte goes from Rookie Rocker to 2nd year slouch? They're both good players, but neither can make anything happen without some help in front of them.

As for the comment about receivers... I beg to differ. A great QB can make average wideouts look amazing with good ball placement. Great receivers can't do dick if the ball never makes it to them. If Cutler has time to stand back in the pocket and Martz can come up with some decent plays (compared to Ron Turner, a school yard playbook would be light years ahead... yeah, that's right, school yard ball doesn't use playbooks), the Bear's O should at least be capable of securing victories this year. Not that they'll be outstanding, but they should be good enough.

My real worry is still on the defense whether or not the secondary is going to be worth a damn. If Peppers and Co. can get some pressure on opposing QB's, and Urlacher stays healthy, we should be in decent shape.

I'd agree that the Packers and Vikings still have a leg up on us, but the Bears are definitely capable of being contenders.
