heres on theory that helps:

how about this:

there is only one state of limbo (i think they go over this), which is shared by evreyone.

You can enter limbo by either 1. dying, or 2. going to deep into the dreams (or in this case, level 4).

fischer, saito enter limbo because they die.

cobb, ariadne, enter by going under again

cobb knows where to find fischer, because he knows that mal will be holding him hostage, and he knows where, because shes part of his sub-conscious.

they find fischer, ariadne and fischer exit limbo by killing themselves(which cobb has said is the only way to exit)

cobb then goes on a journey to find saito.. he walks. this is why he appears in the water exhausted/tired. he has to find him so that he can see his daughters again. in the time it takes him to find saito, a long time has past. since cobb is aware he's in limbo, he doesn't age, he just looks beatup from all the travel. Saito on the other hand, doesn't know he is in limbo, and is thus old as hell. cobb finally finds him, and wants to bring him back.

past that i have no idea

I'm not sure which theory i like the most. The everything is a dream theory is ok, and seems the most plausible. The everything is a dream after the sedative is ok too, and I find a little more interesting. The Saito is the architect and pulled a Mr Charles on Cobb definitely leaves you thinking, but seems a little less plausible.

LOVED this movie... only one thing that really irks me. In that first level of dream they are falling in the van which causes the anti-gravity (and some freaking awesome ass scenes) in the second level. Now that the second level's gravity is gone, why the fuck doesn't it carry over into the third level? Driving me insane. That "answer" page posted says:

"The motion of those inside the van is thrown off, and that feeling of falling carries over into the dream, making it as though there’s no gravity in the hotel level below the van. This effect does not, however, seem to extend any further than one level in a dream within a dream within a dream."

But I'm not content with that. If their bodies are getting anti-gravity in the second level it should move on into the third... just saying. But it would've made the movie a lot more annoying.

I disliked the third level b/c it was hard to tell a few times who was who with those snow suits, but I did love how they pointed out how inconvenient that design was lol

Aslo, he's dreaming... that's my end result. How the hell did he get out of limbo if killing causes them to go further into limbo? And his dad waiting at the airport was a bit too dreamy-perfect. Unless I missed some dialogue about them agreeing for his dad to meet him on the other end... but I love that they left the ending open like that. It makes it that much better!

Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.
