what are your mods again? engine internals and turbo specifically

i wouldnt worry about the chain unless you are doing some 2nd to 1st kick downs at WOT.... regal guy with 350whp finally broke his stock chain on about 350+whp if that and that was after 2 years lol, and it was the downshift that go it... stock trans for the car running mid 12s

if youve got a 4340 and a 7/8ths, you shouldnt have a problem unless you are like heads/cam and pushing 15+ psi

hell just ask KJ, though his trans lasted a long time, though i dont remember his mods

complete mod list:

Z7 kit(tial wastegate/bov)TR10 IC,manual boost controller, K&N filter, breather ,L36 intake, L36 TB, L36 LIM, HV3, zzp 350 pump, FP rewire, alt booster, 65# inj, E-85, Tog DP/cutout, 180*, zzp wires, zzp plog, 103's

trans: 4340 Input Shaft, Chromoly Pump Shaft, Hardened 4th Clutch Shaft, 2.93 7/8th Gear/Chain, Transgo Shift Kit, Borg Worner Clutches

plan on tuning for around 15-18 psi, but only running around 10ish daily. then during a race or track bump it up. as i said i will have some track time but not a shit ton. and i am unsure if i will buy slicks. if i find a set for cheap i would or i may borrow a set for a few runs but that's it. as for 2-1 downshifts they will obviously happen but not every day or anything. but occasionally it's fun to just step on the go-fast pedal. :noes:

lol everything but what turbo you have!?!

without a cam or rockers on a stock engine you will still make good power, but without springs you are gonna be screwed above like 12-14 psi!

I never said I would for sure hit 400, but was hoping with high boost I mat be close. Stoney from clubgp put down 436 whp with a 46mm.

I plan on upgrading the turbo this winter though.

So back on track, the 130's are reccomended for turbo builds correct? I may go ahead and look at getting some 1.9 rockers also, but aprons first! (probably run stok springs for now though, until I can talk the wife into more money, I already spent WAY mote than what I initially said I was going to)

Mileage/age is a big factor in that as well. There was quite a few of us that ran higher boost with no float up to 62-6300(with 1.9 rockers). Not saying its for every build as it doesnt leave alot of head room for making more power, but its not always a must.

If your planning on throwing a cam in at any point go with the #130/125 spring. Add a double roller to the list if you dont have one.

mileage on my springs are 198K...im sure they are a little worn:hs:

no cam, ever!

if any valvetrain it will be mod'd 1.9's. i have more money in this than i want, and honestly id be happy with 350whp. shit my last gtp wasn't even at 300whp and i was more than happy!

I think with the e85 on board, high hp numbers wouldn't be unreasonable. I think new springs and RR are a good idea

agreed, that's where i got my guesstimate of around 400 to be at. like said, stoney achieved mid 400 to the wheel without e85 and a smaller turbo. but high 300's will def. make my little man excited :jg:

i forgot about e85... though stoney made those #s with the same cam phat is using, most aggressive turbo cam outside of the TTGPs "ST7" cam

look at the new cam dyno chart in the general section on club and see what kinda #s people are putting down, not the most up to date list, but you get the idea

true about stoney. he tried to talk me into taking it when i was buying the IC and trans.

yeah the HP chart, number 5 is at 411. i think with a good tuned E-85, HV3 setup i can be upwards of 300. but i will def. need some springs (just one think i forgot about while buying/installing everything.)

so the car is up and running but after about 30 seconds it starts idling at like 2700 rpms. i am guessing it is due to a vacuum leak but i am unable to find it. would there be anything else causing this, or am i correct on the vacuum leak and i just need to keep looking?

i hear a loud suction back where the wastegate is but i dont feel anything so i dont know...:hs::dunno:

i have been meaning to go pick up some starter fluid and just start spraying to see what happens, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

im starting to feel like HK. this should have been done 2-3 weeks ago but it's still not finished :roflpicard:

here are a couple of scans. the first one is of the 3000 rpm idle.

http://www.scandepot.net/viewscan.php?pk=5186

while it was running i deleted the engine codes using the aeroforce (this was not in the scan) once i deleted the code the car died. i started the car back up and it was idleing fine (as in not 3000 rpms). here is that scan:

http://www.scandepot.net/viewscan.php?pk=5189

if i unplug the MAF it runs fine though...

but now there is more:

i gave the car gas a few times to see if i could draw boost (and to make sure the BOV is functioning because at idle it is partially open) well it seemed like i revved pretty high (~3500-4000) and i never left vacuum... what's the deal?

i shut of the car and i heard a weird sound. it was like an arching sound (electrical) me and a friend didnt see anything and we couldn't pin point the exact location. we started the car again and it did the same thing. any ideas???

i also tried to fill it up with trans fluid but my dipstick apparently has a hole in it because it leaks as i fill. i need to run to the parts store to get more fluid though because it's not even close to being full according to the stick (but i dont know how...) i wanted to put the car in "D" and "drive" it while jacked up just to get a scan, but i dont know when ill be able to make it to the parts store...hopefully tonight...
