Making you spend money twice is not exactly a bait and switch. More like a rip off.

His big dollar converter would be fine at your power level. But do you trust them to get it right or remotely close the first time out?

Most of my buddies and myself use Ultimate Converter Concepts. I have used a few converters over the years and have been the happiest with the UCC converter. And The owner/operator, Lenny, is a awesome guy. He is great on the phone and in person. He will take the time to explain what he has and what you need. And explain exactly why you need it. He also goes to many of the NMRA & NMCA races to give at track help to his customers. You can't go wrong with him for sure.

I also read a lot of good things on The Turbo Forums and The Yellow Bullet about PTC. A lot of happy customers over there for both manufacturers. Do some searches over there and you will be lucky to find any bad info about the two companies. There is a reason for that.

btw, What size is your converter? Circumference that is. 9", 10" 10.5" etc.

:bigthumb: greasy! :D You still thinkin that he might sell that thing to you?

Well he has said in the past that he really likes the car, but does not drive it much. He does not want to get rid of it to just anybody and he if he does sell it he wants it to go to someone he know will take care of it. I know he is interested in getting a SVT Raptor, but I am not sure if he is really looking right now. I would have made an offer already on the notch, but things did not pan out financially for me this year. Oh well, all in due time :)

I'm not 100% sure on the size, but I'd guess 10.

I've heard good things about PTC as well. Is this UCC place you speak of local?

So yea. Guess I forgot to knock on wood when I was complaining about the converter being undersized for the car last night. Hoping its just the converter.

no good, you talked too soon! hope you get it working right again.

It'll get dropped eventually. My schedule is soo damn booked though for the next few weeks... there won't be much time to work on it. :wtc:

the wifey has your butt on lock from that schedule i heard last night! haha

Just got off the phone with Lenny@Ultimate. Hardest part of his deal is the three week lead time and then there's the price. It's not terribly much more than Performabuilt, but its still the highest price yet.

He took the time to talk to me and explain how I likely killed my old converter, how it likely contributed to the heat issue I was having and ALL about the converter he suggested. Seems like a good guy.

1 year warranty
10" converter case
1 free stall adjust if I'm unhappy with where it locks at initially
good to 1100wtq :eek4:
