Congrats dude! I had one interview late last week and I have another interview (a different company) tomorrow morning.

As nice as it has been having time off from work with the warm weather, I am getting bored during the day with a lot of free time on my hands and not being able to spend $$$.

I'll be working for the DuPage Water Commission. My official title is assitant operator. The pumping station I will be working at supplies entire DuPage county with water from Lake Michigan, it pumps 200 million gallons of water a day. It is the second largest pumping station in Illinois. At any given time, I am one of two people on the clock making sure everything is running like a top. Whether it be maintenance, emergency repairs, monitoring chemical levels, water levels in stand pipes, and anything else related to keeping the water supply. I have to maintain/repair generators, bearings, high voltage switch gear, 1000+ HP electric motors, pumps, boilers, air handlers, centrifugal chillers, plumbing, you name it.

The hours are pretty awesome. 12 hour shifts, 6 to 6, 4 days on 4 days off, and every 7 weeks it alternates between night and day shift. Kinda like working every other week.

Yes it did ryan. Not as much as I was making before though. The hourly pay is a little lower, but the salary will end up being decent, because I work 48hours a week.

I just got home from signing the paperwork, pissing in a cup, and the turn head & cough routine. All that stuff will pass with flying colors. Im starting on Tuesday June 1st!! This is going to be such a relief not worrying about living paycheck to paycheck any more.

Nope. We pump the water to all the municipalities, and they are in control of it once it gets past our meters.
