nope never said that. I recall that convo. I was talking about not everyone can drive an LS1 well because I have seen times all over the place. Example me driving low 12's in mine and witnessing in person people driving the same cars on the same day down the track hitting 14's. I was talking about z06's not ss's though

Alright, next topic it is. I would guess that it would take more than a tune to make a SHO faster than a new pony. I'm going to completely disregard the video on this one and just talk 1/4 mile times since we have a good idea based on what has been published. Our assumptions are the SHO runs mid-13's and the Mustang runs mid-12's. We have also heard that SHO's with bolt-on's have run high 12's. Is the assumption that this is bolt-on without a tune? I don't know if I would believe a SHO with just a tune would be fast enough. A full second is a lot to drop off with just a tune, especially with the video someone posted about the increase in whp with a tune. I don't think that was enough power to close a one second gap. I could see that a bolt-on SHO with a tune and maybe slightly more boost could easily do it. Thoughts anyone else?

Quotes directly from Rick and Andy @ livernois!!

Earlier today, I raced a 2011 Mustang GT with our 2010 SHO.

This race was on a closed road. I'm going to try to make it to the track tomorrow.

Both cars have less than 500 miles. The Mustang is a 6-Speed manual with road race suspension and 19" wheels. The SHO is obviously an auto, lowered, on the stock 20's

the Mustang was stock, but with suspension for autocross/road racing. the SHO hasn't been dyno'd yet, but it will be once our new AWD dyno is installed in the coming weeks... Our GXP has our 1c (stealth) cam, Kooks 1 7/8 mid length headers with high flow cats, corsa cat-back, roto-fab CAI, and of course a Livernois Dyno tune... it makes 455 rwhp.
I was impressed with the numbers the 5.0 put out stock. It's the closest match Ford has ever had for the GM cars. The SHO is 500 lbs. heavier and I was pretty surprised with the outcome. We're working on developing parts for both cars now...

13.3 @ 100 was the best I went in the SHO. I forgot to take the tuner, so couldn;t swap tunes at the track, but we have another one that feels much stronger for next time I go to the track. The Mustang has not been to the track.

He also said that it was 15 degree's cooler when they raced against the stang, compared to the track visit that resulted in the above time... which obviously helps for a turbo car more than a n/a car...

I think there's definitely potential. We're going to push ours hard and see what we can get out of it. We tweaked it more today and it will spin all 4 pretty good on the launch now. We've only had it a week, but have tuned several that get raced often and we haven;t had any issues. I guess time will tell.

Its a fucking tune you guys give me a break. The car has stock manifolds and exhaust. You can only do so much with just a tune. Its not like youre going to gain 300 whp from just a tune. Also the sho weighs as much as a tank and the mustang doesn't. The other thing I am sick of is people making all the excuses in the world for FORD. bunch of babies

I still cant decide if Bryant is a successful troll or he REALLY thinks like this :ugh:

That last discussion about this car people were saying the SS isn't stock because the mustang is a factory 12 second car. So all ford supporters were saying the LS1 is no way stock blah blah blah. didn't the video say the SHO only had a tune? And someone else posted the the mustang had suspension. I could care less who one the race. All I was saying is "Is it more believable that the SS could have beaten the mustang"

Why because an AWD car capable of high 12's beat a high 12's Mustang?

I saw the SHO holding off the car pretty well. This wasn't a mile race vogz......jk

Jason its surprising because a 13.3 car with just a tune according to the description beating a 412 hp suspension mustang that Runs 12.7's according to press. Thats all. I was either shocked that just a tune ran so well or the mustang is not as fast as expected. Why is this such a hard concept to grasp?

Anything can happen on the street. It seems like you don't understand that by your posts here. That SHO is a consistent low 13's/high 12's car. Push the pedal down and it will run that time after time. The 2011 5.0 needs a prepped track and a capable driver to row through the gears to run a 12.7 (a owner just ran 12.58 stock).

FYI, that "suspension" mustang is setup for road racing. The guy that owns it is building it for NASA TT, not drag racing.

Like a ricer oh my clutch was slipping...then you shouldn't have fucking raced. Oh my brake fluid was low, you shouldn't have raced...Ohhh im on a street tire and you're on a slick then you shouldn't have fucking raced. Oh that guy can't drive. Mark when I said not many People drive LS1 cars well you gave me shit, Now a mustang owner says the guy in the mustang can't drive his car and its perfectly acceptable. So what I say is Fuck you!!

You guys are still fucking idiots. If you should have won the race and lost and you say oh I lost because x y and z then its a fucking excuse.

Says the guy who doesn't understand that on the street an AWD car is going to be quicker from a start vs. a RWD car.

Again, the 5.0 is a high 12's vehicle and a tuned SHO is a high 12's vehicle. If you put a 2010 Camaro SS against this particular SHO the same thing would have happened.
