It was the wind, everyone's traps were off except 1 of Tommy's. A nice cool night at GLD should result in some damn decent times coming out of nowhere for everyone.

I sure hope so........On a side note, this is my first track appearance that I didn't loose .5 sec... it has gone 17.1 - 16.5 - 15.9 - 15.5 - 15.0 - 14.5 - 14.4..... lame

The powerwheels in the garage would spank said camry. Ive built faster battery RC cars. The thing is a piece of shit, but it gets me to a and b. Hell, right now I have to yank the VC just to replace the spark plugs due to some plug gromits or something that fucked up in the VC. Then I have to find the leak in the PS that likes to rid itself of fluid, along with a tranny line leak.

 yea he was talking smack about gtpmikes car cause his camry was "hangin" with it :picard: I thought that's what you were referring too.

02bluegt (dave) needs to step up and start pushing his car and not be afraid of everything. You don't have a burnt valve, so going through all that work to change the heads is a complete waste of time IMO. If you do have one, who cares? Is it something that's detrimental to the way the car runs? No... so slap on a pulley and lets go run 13's.

I didnt go to byron on saturday, but i went to tri states in iowa on sunday.
Track was hooking decent, pulled a couple 1.8x 60's with my hoosiers at 18 psi, and 2 spring blockers per side.
PB for the day was a 12.74@107 w/ 1.91 60'. Which beats my previous best from last fall of 12.83.
My car was tuned in 50-low 60 degree weather, so i dont think it being low 70s helped me any.

Well, I guess if I was to miss track day; at least there wasn't much going on (PB Wise).

I was going to originally go, but got slammed with lots of stuff to do towards the tail-end of the week...and I messed my back up Sat morning...spent the whole weekend in a drug-induced haze. Only reason I'm not doped up now is I have to drive the kids back and forth to school (And my back is freaking killing me). Can't wait for 3pm...

Afraid of what, 20* of timing, and pulling fuel seems aggressive to me, I think I need the 3.5, above 4k RPM the car just gives up.... It was almost on there, but James was afraid I wouldn't be able to tune for exhaust E85, and a pulley...Oddly enough, my tuning was pretty right on, just a little rich.....When I go to the track next, I will not have a 3.8 pulley on, I'd prefer 3.4 but hopefully I can get a hub and some pulleys by then, and we can see how fast my car will run

Maybe I need a 10sec tune before/during the next track outing:nutz:

My car doesn't like above 20, but 19.5 held all day....

Best was a 14.46 @ 94.2 (2.1 60)...... Which ia weird because by best last year at GLD was a 14.58 @ 96.5 (2.3 60)

Either the wind was that much of an issue, or 10* of timing doesn't equal any power

Car does pull harder, I wanna try it with less wind, then go to the 3.5

What else do you have done besides the topswap?

I can def help there's no doubt about that, I think you should stick that 3.5 on there and discover just how fast that car really is. Unlock the potential and you'll have a grin on your face for weeks, i promise. I ran the 3.0 on my car with the gen V and high comp. first thing, didn't even know if it was wayyyy too small, i took a chance and somehow didn't blow anything up lol. So follow in my footsteps, it's a 3800, phatride and stick a motor in it over the weekend without loosing a beat, you're in good hands.
