Im going to be putting my s3 ic core on soon and im woundering if I should a. get gasket paper make my won gaskets b.rtv with no gaskets. or c. make my own gaskets and rtv.

Legit question

On grand prix forums .net they talk about using a silicone baking sheet from Target and then cutting it up and using it for a gasket.

Its suppose to be good at sealing but the verdict is still out on it. The problem is the durometer of the silicone sheet really is to soft and its quite thick too.

I talked to Paul (PRJ) about this a while back and he checked out too and wasn't a fan of it.

:roflpicard:

Seriously?? People are going to use cooking shit on their engines?? WOW.

This actually isnt a CGP bash. Its the GPF tards.......again.

Yeah, that is pretty dumb.

Any silicone/rubber gaskets are reinforced for a reason. They get mishapen under TQ. There are also tremendous forces acting on the supercharger from boost and torsional from the mass spinning inside it...plus the belt. You want it as rigid as possible.

I'd be a fan of a ridge and silicone/rubber o-ring where you can get metal on metal though.

I thought he used food stamps and that pissed turk off. :dunno:

Ohh, toolio fungolio showed back up in the CGP thread. For one post that didnt even pertain to the idea of a cookie sheet. LOL.
It's true. I let all those working fools pay for my food, heat and electricity. Sometimes I got some left over for car parts.
