in all seriousness tho....dont worry about what we think you should do. do what is going to ultimately make YOU happy

Hehe, Thanks guys.

The mustang guy is really slow to respond and by the sounds of it the car is probably pretty trashed.

If I pickup a stock Z6 engine I can part out my hybrid and make $350 back on it easily and then toss my origional D15B8 motor back together as well and make another $150-200 off that with my CX transmission. I'd end up equal, or ahead of the game with a motor than i can boost easily.

you can get more power out of a dual cam more easily. The heads are better, everything about them is better. You have a better starting platform so there is more potential. You can make more power more easily. Its like someone saying hmmmmm what should I buy an lt1 or an ls1? While both can make power which one is going to make more power more easily? Of course the newer better motor. I don't know what your fascination with a single cam is. Youre aren't being a trend setter because people have built single cams before so you wouldn't be the first. Just go with a dual cam.

there is a higher likelyhood of not making as much power on a single cam, not being as reliable, and not being any less money than a dual cam. I'm not saying that you can't make power with a single cam because you can. they just don't have the potential of a dual cam motor, THERE IS NO ADVANTAGE TO A SINGLE CAM

only thing I see about a single cam is cost really, I know I'm not being a trendsetter, but where would I pickup a dual cam with transmission for $500?

again, what I really want to do is get an B18B LS swap and drop it in there and turbo it over next winter, I'd need axels, mounts, trans, and a motor.

while right now I have mounts, axels, and the best trans I can get for a SOHC motor. If my income didn't suck so badly right now because I have to pay all the bills at my house it would be different, and I only hope that changes with time :(

well then heres an idea for you. You are obviously in a tight spot for money right now. Don't blow it on modding cars because what has it gotten you so far? nothing but countless blown head gaskets. There is no harm or shame in getting your stock slow car running and running reliably. I would suggest you get everything in order financially, then little by little get the right parts together. I HAVE TONS OF PARTS you can get off of me over time if you choose. I have a hondata, I have axles, mounts, exhaust everything you need to swap that car. I have a type r block, two heads, everything you could want for that car literally

Ok, so you were right about twincams being dirt-cheap if I looked hard enough...

Money is a bit low, but really once I have another motor lined up *Which I do now* I can sell off what I have for parts and make the money back quickly. I make enough to be comfortable, I just can't stomach dumping $3000 on a swap regardless of how much or little I have.

*Edited for secrecy*

Das, an extremely successful smart person once told me take advice from someone who is in a position to give advice. This means SRT41320, turboc1, or myself would be a really good source to get advice from, because we have all been there, and we have all spent a lot of money on hondas, and we all have tried different setups, and we all got to the same conclusion that the dual cam is the way to go. Don't mess with a single cam unless its free.

I'm all happy now, Lol.

We will have to see how this all turns out in a month or 2, wish me luck!
