I picture mike and james on the phone every monday like a conference call comparing figures. 3.5 REALLY? No PE REALLY?

I would post the pictures of him on the phone with james at 41 but I don't have them on work computer.

James whats the deal with this no PE stuff. When we went to 41 I pretty much watched GTP mikes laptop the whole way to 41 and back. with no PE (14.7afr) at WOT he was getting a little knock, I think 4 deg was the most I saw. On the way back PE was enabled and I still saw knock, but alot less probably under 2 deg. This was with that 3.5 and 15 deg timing. Im no tuning master but why does the car not blow the fuck up with no PE and yet still gets knock with PE enabled. Is it really not running at 14.7 AFR at WOT?

let me guess he was in 4th? his tune is geared around 3rd, he knows to downshift to third to play.
i bumped timing 2* before ya'll left but with bumped timing the burn changes enough to redo the no PE maf, i wanted to go through another ve cycle but he was kinda rushing things. and as long as he kept up on the maf cleaning with the new filter i figured he'd be good enough.
high angularity engine can tollerate detonation pretty well since chamber volum increases at a greater rate reducing the chance for a secondary flame front causing a pressure spike bad enough to hurt things. but like any other engine if ya lug it down low youll reap the whirlwind of piston chunks. i believe most knock damag relates to low rpm knock (ie 4th gear and 4th to 3rd forced downshifts (where knock spikes in 4th and then dep on table setting ramps it back in once in 3rd (the same thing the shift timing tables are doing)

simple, the tune is still off, in this instance it may be that timing is comanded a bit high for a high comp g5 but until the fueling is done and i can see what the data says i couldnt tell ya....i do believe that the calculated load values depend on the trans gearing info and thats why i'm bugging him to get a dif with the OE reluctor....i'd like to eliminate that as the potential issue. if he gets around to wiring up the narrowband output of his WB to the pcm thats great but for the most part the readings he see's on the wb agree with commanded afr in the logs so the narrowband is functioning fairly well at the least (be nice to log both the wb and oe nb, but this is comming from the guy that would like to toss a WB in each primary....)

mike had limited top end runs at the track (that saved), thats a wrather limited data pool i had him make on the fly changes and then listened to him cuss for 2 minutes straight after he had flashed it (lanes closed- insert fuuuuuuu pic here)

and since he hasent seen fit to show me the data i'm hoping he's picked up enough from me that he's doing it himself....(though when it comes to the line by line look through logs looking for trends, he glazes over:dunno:)

i built it for him but i still consider it my motor....and he'll learn to tune it well or else....:noes:

student needs to apply himself more, b-

Classic. James is holding Mike's tune hostage.
