I understand that this doesn't get much participation, but...
Can't it just be any picture? No themes, not necessarily cars. I mean, it is suppose to be picture of the month. There are plenty of sick pictures to be taken, car-related or not.
I don't have a cool car or know anyone with any particularily nice vehicles, so I don't participate in COTM already. Why would POTM be just cars as well?
Also, since I'm here and don't feel like making another post, to go alone with your idea of photoshopping... Can't there be another sub-section in COTM that allows photoshopping? People spend a lot of time learning the program and I think there skills should be shown if they want. Have two sections where one is the unedited picture, and the other is the photoshopped pic. So, if people choose to PS, then they can enter their pic there. It would be interesting to see what an unedited photo looks like compared to a PS photo.

I thought a car POTM would let you get away from the car you own, but have taken a picture of. It was just an idea. These potms have been a bomb since the beginning pretty much. The first one was a decent turnout for being the first, but it also had the most entries. I just thought with so many of us owning nice DSLRs and having at least basic PS experience, some cool shots could be made.
However, I forget that some hate the idea of abstract art, some of the good photographers are on here very little anymore, and it is just another thing for people to complain about. Ill still do it though.

That means that the objects were overprocessed. If you build an HDR image properly, it should NOT have that. All that HDR should do is to emphasize image's colors.

Themes makes it so that the picture is taken that month, and isn't just something you took a long ass time ago that you're happy with.

Themes don't work. Haven't you noticed.
There could be a "rule" that it has to be taken that month.
This isn't DS or any other high caliber photography site so I don't know why everything has to be so specific and perfect. Post up a pic, we vote.
