Good work.IMO you should be able to mod what ya want, when ya want.If I had to own a Civic (not my taste)I'd leave it bone stock outside and do what you did.

BTW,some cars benefit from a motor change for the best performance .The old A32 Maximas benefit nicely from a VQ35 swap, and all things considered its a better idea than to mod the VQ30 it comes with.

Boost with an m90 isn't that easy on high compression motors.......

Fixed! It's a lot different outside the gp world my friend. I'll be at 10:1 this year in my GTP and 11:1 is still boost-able, hence s2k's. I DO NOT agree with boosting honda's, however the b18b is useless without it. People that ruin Type R and s2k motors just to boost them should climb up the tallest building in the world and jump off.

:ford: <- has nothing to do with this thread, however i felt as if i should contribute.

Sell it, that's 3 times what its worth! Find another civic that is in better shape for your swap if you want to swap a motor so bad.

a rust-free EG or EJ typically go for over 3K, Shells over 1K.

make sure you do a build thread...havent seen one of those for awhile

Dunno if I ever linked my swap thread from Honda-Tech:

Boost isn't that easy on high compression motors.......

B18B1's are in the 9's for compression *9.0-9.8:1 somewhere in there* so they aren't hard to tune for some nice boost number on a stock bottom end.

I DO NOT agree with boosting honda's, however the b18b is useless without it. People that ruin Type R and s2k motors just to boost them should climb up the tallest building in the world and jump off.

The B16 and B18C families of motors I do not like boosted, as you mentioned, they are 'ruining' it, the motor is designed for high RPM, high Comp.

My B18b I like for the reasons I mentioned earlier (Cost, availability, Boost-ability, etc, etc.) but most importantly is the torque. My B18B1 has just as much, or more torque than ANY other B-series engine *127tq, compared to 116 out of the B16, and 120? IIRC for the GSR.

Part of me kind of wants a turbo hatch, then again I don't want a front wheel drive car again.

Turbo hatches book ass

Sadly it seems like nowadays they're the same thing. A clean hatch costs the same whether its from an enthusiast or an old lady.

KBB seems to be especially 'fucked' on old EG/EJ values, making old folk think/know there car isn't worth $500.

Well, I have:

A 1995 B18B1 sitting on an engine stand
a B18B1 Transmission with an Exedy clutch/OEM flywheel
All associated mounts
ECU
OEM gauge cluster with Tachometer with proper redline
Retarded short, short-shifter

Just need to buy a few bushings/seals, and a few more toys, and its all going in :)
