🔧 BUILD Termi-Fux's '91 Calypso Green Mustang 5.OH LX Hatch

General Information

Back story: This is my first car I bought when I was 14. Bone stock aside from a K&N panel filter, purple tint and a circuit city sound system. In 22 years of ownership, it's only been driven about 5,000 miles lol. It's been on the backburner for a long time when other toys came into the picture. I gotta get it back on the road and enjoy it. I've done a lot to it over the years but was never completely happy with it and would lose interest. Anyway it's all torn apart in my garage right now but I have most everything to finish it and I'm slowly getting it done. Maybe this thread will keep me motivated... It's no race car. Just want a fun street car, full interior that I can take to Byron occasionally. Some major things it's getting currently are a Vortech V3 blower kit with an Anderson Power Bypass Kit, Terminator X EFI kit, Holley Digital Dash, Maximum Motorsports catalog was thrown at it. All new fuel system etc. It's already got a complete TrickFlow top end. I'll update with more specifics as I get shit done. I've got real sets Ford R58 Cobra R's in Silver and Chrome and Bogart drag wheels for the car. Baby likes different shoe options.

I really don't have many pics of the car anymore. Lost to old laptops and photofucket. Here's a few pics of it when I got it April 2001. And a current pic. More than likely it's fused to the jackstands at this point. I'll update as I progress.

Pony's standard on all 91-93 cars?
On 5.0 cars aside from 93 Cobra. 10 holes standard on nicer 4 bangers 90-93, 14" hubcaps on the poverty spec ones. Cobra R's are the hotness. 10 holes aren't. Not on this car anyway. Keep it up Jeff, when my shits prowling the streets again your invite to meet up at Dairy Queen may get lost. Blizzard? Not with Smiley ?

I feel like the to do list in my head is as long as the bible and I'm not even building anything spectacular. But any progress is progress. 18 years or so ago when I did the 5-Lug disc brake swap I never bothered with the parking brake. Just ripped the old shit out. Ford Racing had cables that are long discontinued for rear disc swaps on foxes. Now that the whole underside of the car from the transmission back is torn apart I may as well add parking brake cables. Luckily LMR has us trailer trash Fox guys covered and offer parking brake cables for the disc swap to which I purchased. I had remembered the ratcheting mechanism needed to be welded together on the parking brake handle. Did some googling to see exactly what I needed to do and found some dude on YouTube installing this Ford bracket to avoid welding. I'm intrigued ? I guess it was a recall bracket for SN95 cars to lockout the ratchet mechanism. It's still available for like $5. No welding required. The big spring is no longer needed so I cut it out, that sucked. Anyway that's done. Little victories.

Best looking stock fox body/wheel out there IMO. Gimme a 92 LX 5 speed on some 16" DR's with frame ties, 4.30's, light springs and a 150-200 hit. You'd ruin a lot of days (and T5's)with that car.
One day I'd love to have a nearly stock all black/black 91-93 GT 5-Speed with exhaust and gears. That's the car that gave me my first Fox boner when I was 8.

I had the intake and valve covers powdercoated last summer and never even took them out of the Saran wrap. Felt like seeing how they look on the car. I'm pretty stoked on how it's coming together. Should really pop when I open the hood when it's broken down in a Menards parking lot. Installed my Low Doller Motorsports 3-Bar Map Sensor on the bottom of the upper too. The Holley harness comes with the GM style metripack for the map. I de-pinned that and added the GT150 connector. Look Jeffs FRC Jeffs FRC the color matches my old dumb Cobra R wheels ?

Coming out really nice, attention to detail and getting it right is more important then the time spent.
Thanks Drew! I'm not the speediest on projects of my own cause I'm so anal. I spent way too long last night researching to find an OEM Ford rubber grommet to plug the firewall hole for the speedo since it'll be GPS based. I found it though ?
