🔧 BUILD I respect wood. I revere wood. I'm considerate of wood. Buick Roadmaster content inside

General Information

I finally full filled my dream of owning the ultimate dad rod. It needs a deeeeep clean and some work but here I am adding a 3rd project to my stable.

My ultimate goal is LS swap with a manual trans, get it a bit lower on 18” something’s and enjoy it as my daily driver and kid hauler.

Cool ride, man I remember these. First thing I'd do is check rear gears. I thought some of these came with abysmal 2.73s or similar. L99 or LT-1?

If it's a healthy LT-1 I dunno I'd probably do a water pump/opti while shoving a CC503 Cam in and some springs at the same time provided you have enough gear. A stall and some headers with that and a good gear ratio and she'll move pretty well. Obviously times have changed but gen 2s are still solid performance engines unlike most of the SBCs produced for 20 years before it.

Someone stole some Roadmaster Wheels for you it seems. The rear has settled more than the front based on how I remember these.

The nice thing about the Buick b bodies is that they ALL had the iron headed LT1, no l99s to be found.

That’s actually the origin of the LT1 in my gta, though only the short block remains.

It’s a 2.56 pegleg. I have a Yukon limited slip on the shelf for it. I’d like to get a mid 3.xx for it and get that put in at some point.

It’s got a brand new water pump on it. Stock oem for optispark seems to be the best. Reman ones seem to be trash, I did get another backup opti with the car he had for if it ever went.

They’re factory wheels….it’s a roadmaster

Was this the guy that wasn't responding to you?
No…..wait which one? this guy posted this Monday night, I texted him I’d like to stop by in the morning to check it out. Drove 70 miles straight north and decided for the price it was worth buying. Had a friend drive me back up there this morning to bring it home.

Aren’t all the B-body cars 2 bolt mains though?
Far as I know only the vettes and lt4 camaro SS got 4 bolt mains.

Hasn’t seemed to cause an issue with me revving the shit out of my lt1. But, when I had it rebuilt it was redone with all arp hardware and balances to hell and back.
