Anyone else do model cars?

Sometime last year I found a model GTO, and I kinda got hooked on them. I had an old curio cabinet I wasn't doing anything with previously, and well now it's full.
It's an odd collection but the main focus is getting as close to cars I've owned, and then followed by things I just think are cool.

I used to build a lot of model cars. I really enjoyed trying to make them appear as really as possible. I still have some that I built years ago and I still have some that are in boxes. Sadly most are long gone in a landfill somewhere. I do have some diecast though. I will take a few pics in a little bit.

That red Earnhardt iroc is $200 plus shipping very nice

Damn. I think I payed no more than $50 new for it many many years ago. That orange Bob Jane ZL-1 Camaro I think I payed $250 looooong time ago. But it’s also larger I think 1:18. And the Fred Gib Camaro was not cheap either back in the day. I must have bought those around 2005-ish when I owned a Camaro SS then. Love those models.

I used to do a bunch as a kid. Ended up giving a bunch of NIB Tamiya and Fujimi kits to my BIL for my nephews. They never built them unfortunately, just not into it.

I did a few not long ago. An Impala, Land Cruiser, and Shelby AC Cobra but they got thrashed during my last move.

I still keep an eye out for these asymmetric BBS wheels when hitting hobby shops. If I find a set I’ll redo the Impala:

I have over 20 boxes of the large Sams club black storage boxes filled with either plastic model kits, die cast or Hot Wheel size cars. 20 years of collecting anything Smokey and the Bandit or Trans Am related. I also have a rather huge box of my Father's plastic models he built as a kid. Would love to get back into building them again someday.

Yea, diecast, used to build a ton of models too.

I remember having the big 1:8 scale Monogram models of an '85 Corvette, '85 IROC, '82 Z28, and there was an '82 Collector Edition Corvette in there. Sadly, they didn't really survive my youth and many moves (I do still have them somewhere). I recently went and looked to see what their availability was. Wholly shit on prices.

I see that they had a 1:8 1980/81 Turbo Trans Am too. I never had that one, but would've been so appropriate.
