I was on the hunt on Facebook for a 2016-2019 F250/350 white tailgate for a friend up in Wisconsin. Junk yards wanted $1500 for them and most of the tailgates I found were 2019+ OR smashed up from being on a work truck. I found one in Elgin exactly the option combo he was looking for. $400 Looked nice. Messaged the guy and he was just weird. Wanted me to meet him at this random grocery store at night, couldn't tell me where the part came from, didn't have any other parts from the same truck, and wouldn't provide a vin from the part or the truck it came off of. I'm like if you can't tell me any of this I am going to assume this is stolen, and he deleted the post the next day. Google told me he had some police history so I said fuck it not dealing with this guy and stolen parts. I would guess it's not hard to remove a tailgate from an unlocked truck with an impact and a few min of time. It was a great deal tho.
Too many questions. Pay the man and move on

You don't need any tools for tail gates. Fold them down, get to a 45° angle and pull right side towards you and undo the cables. Lmao.

Super duty parts are some of the most expensive parts out there.

Beds especially than doors, then tail gates

It is where the market is at for Hellcats that are at modded to my level and in the condition my car is in.

Have u considered putting it back to stock and lowering the price the banks have tightened up on book value and don’t want to give to much over book value since rates are high and more of a change of repos with these high payments.

He would probably get pennies on the dollar trying to sell all his aftermarket shit. Not to mention the time and aggravation of removing it all. I’d lower the price or hope the right buyer comes along.

They got my guys tailgate in Miami when we were all down there 2yrs ago. Literally in less than 5 minutes in a parking lot. I guess down there that’s pretty common or it was 2yrs ago

Agreed but since the market is going back to normal the book value will keep coming down.

Tailgates were getting stolen in melrose park it was about 2000-2500 per tailgate with back up camera and the internals and paint. We would have the porters lock the trucks every night after that.

Yeah the thought has crossed my mind, I might just hold onto it and enjoy it. I am at a crossroads with my lease that is up in mid-April as well and I don't want to force a situation and rush into something. Who knows, it just might be better to see what happens in this economy with everything going on right now.

If u have the stock wheels I would swap those in that’s a few grand u can get back and u can lower the price and get new fresh pics

I don't, I would have to try and pick up a set of stockers. That thought is on my mind as well. The guy I sold my wheels to still hasn't even put them on his car lol

Yea fuck it then not worth it with the wheels. I’ve always said it’s super hard selling a vehicle off of market place, Craigslist or offer up if it’s more than 15-20k then u have to deal with people getting loans and picky people and of course strokes. Most people would rather go to a dealer since they don’t know any better they can get a loan thru a credit union and buy a warranty and gap thru them.

I’m a very impatient seller and if an item don’t sell for me quick or get real buyers coming to see it than something is wrong with my price or my pics suck. Just removing your old ad and doing a new one has helped me sell something quicker without lowering the price much.

I am impatient as well, hence me taking a bath on the Cobra lol. Trying to keep things in perspective and be more patient. I might relist just below $60K and be firm on that.

Same if it’s not gone in 2 weeks I did something wrong, cars boats and off road stuff I normally have a buyer lined up within a day or two off Facebook, but I price stuff to move because I don’t like selling shit so the faster I get it over with the better

On the impatience thing I also listed it at a bad time last year. I think I'll delete my FB ad and relist at a new firm price to see if I get traction. If I can't move the car then I am fucking keeping it......It is not like I hate the thing :ROFLMAO:

Do new pictures also leave some details out let the true buyer ask you and make it a simple ad. Once they come and see the kitty and you re indexed the plugs and u have $900 lug nuts and the car is spotless it will sell fast but u need people to see it. Price it aggressive and don’t put firm on the ad just don’t lower it in person.
