I don’t know when to be concerned or not….. my kid just turned 3 in October. While I have seen HUGE strides in mental and emotional capacity and huge strides in dexterity and hand/eye coordination I just feel like she isn’t physically growing. She has been exactly 30 pounds for over a year and doesn’t seem to be growing in height. My wife swears it’s normal but I always hear stories about how kids grow like weeds but I’m just not seeing it. I really want to get to the stage where we can switch from a full car seat to just one of those smaller booster/convertibles. But that’s not until at least 40 lbs. maybe I’m just nuts but I don’t know- she just doesn’t seem to be growing physically as fast as everybody makes a big deal with toddlers
It's going to basically happen overnight. My son stalled out for quite some time, and then bam, grew like a weed and gained the weight to match.

My wife is in a wedding in march and it is not local so it will be a couple night hotel stay. I’m really worried that the baby is not going to do well that weekend at the hotel. Or we will have just gotten her into a routine the hotel stay is going to destroy all the hard work of a routine.

What you do at home, is what you'll do at the hotel. Might mean one of you missing parts of the wedding, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Shit dude... it never ends. My 7 year old does it, my 3 year old does it, hell my 2 year old is the only one who sleeps through the night.

For the first kid, we ended up flipping the door knob so that we could lock him in the room. He would melt down for a bit and eventually climb back in bed, it was heartbreaking to hear him cry so much.

And then we would unlock it before we went to bed. I don't think that will work because the youngest wakes up well after we go to sleep. And I'm just not comfortable locking a kid in a bedroom all night. We have smoke detectors and all, but I just don't want to leave him locked in there all night.

Yeah I agree not locking her in her bed, just trying to find a solution where they both sleep all night lol

Our 2 y.o. is a great sleeper. Will sleep through the night except when she’s sick (understandable). My 5 y.o. calls for us in the middle of the night, every night, but doesn’t come in the room. She knows there’s a camera in her room and will yell at the camera for us versus getting out of bed. Pretty much the only reason we keep the camera there.

This kid is a master at pooping her diaper right after we change her. Just happened three times in a row.

Our older one did that first thing in the morning for months. Like he preferred pooping in a clean diaper. Now he is starting to tell us when he poops, but sometimes he just says “poop” and doesn’t so I don’t know where we are with that.

We threw Owen in a forward facing car seat at ~2 years and 30lbs. He’s still in the car seat, don’t feel discouraged.

He’s been 38-39lbs for the past 5 months but he keeps getting taller and leaner.

Oh she’s forward facing, but just in one of those massive infant seats. It is such an asshole to get her in and out because it’s so bulky. I cannot wait until she can be in one of those thinner seats. And it’s just crazy that she still is just in 2T clothing.

Going to a booster only style was so fucking amazing. Now I can't wait until my daughter turns two, then I can flip this giant fucking thing around, and then look forward when she can go into a booster as well. These car seats are monstrosities.

My 10 month old son gets up on all 4’s like a bear and sprints across the room at an almost running pace, I can’t believe he’s not walking yet he can stand on his own for quite a while just hasn’t tried to take a step
Our first never crawled, only scooted. One day about 2 weeks before her 1st bday she stood up, hasn't stopped running around since (4.5 now). 2nd crawled at like 9mo, didn't have any interest in walking until 16 months - has been a pistol since. They'll do it on their own terms so long as there are no medical reasons impeding them.

Our oldest started walking right around a year, but went straight to running… poorly, within a couple weeks. Full speed eating shit almost every day. He still just runs constantly. Have to keep a fresh supply of grippy socks so he doesn’t slip on the wood floors.

I need to get a roof box or a bigger car. I forgot every Christmas we get 4+ trash bags of hand-me-downs to take back with us… 4 bags of 2T girls clothes this time.

Looking forward to my wife getting an SUV. We are getting by with 2 smaller cars but traveling would be a problem.
