🏡 Better Homes Aquatic crew assemble: All things pool...

I ain't signing shit.

I signed something already, a contract for a pool install. Not a shit install.
I wish I could be more help, but I'm not too sure. I know wrinkles can usually be fixed relatively easily, but you're saying divots.

Like the sand's all lop sided? Or it's sunk in where the cross braces are? I honestly could count on one hand how many ovals I did and they were always a pain lol.

I definitely wouldn't be signing shit either though.

so my keypad seems to have taken a shit for my pool cover...

im really thinking i might try to avoid replacing it because it's fucking $600

like, wtf. fuck off.

it's suuuper simple too. the tech support dude had me jump it out to make sure it was the issue and fuck it's like five wires. one wire is one direction, one wire the other direction...

the "smart" part about it though is it has torque limiting built into it to not fuck shit up if there's too much weight on the cover or if something is making it bind

Have you taken it apart to see what might be acting up? Probably something silly to solder or what not, and well worth attempting before spending $600+ for a new one. Give it to one of our resident nerds: Lord Tin Foilhat Lord Tin Foilhat wombat wombat SpeedSpeak2me SpeedSpeak2me

The torque limiting makes sense and would be nice. But, if you're not a moron and would also be watching the cover going back/forth and see an issue, you stop jumping it. Hope you can fix it.

the black goo is sealant. honestly, probably have to buy one from them unless you want to reverse engineer it.

what is "broke"? like none of the keys work? what did the tech say

how it should work, code was 4613, you enter the code, hit check mark then the direction you want the cover to go. when you hit the check mark, before yesterday, the status light would turn green.

now it won't.

we changed the code to 0000 and still no green.

if you enter the wrong code and hit check mark, the status flashes red.

so i also tried to do 4444 check mark- red light
6666 check mark red light
1111 check mark red light
3333 check mark red light

so all the buttons are working accurately.

just no green light happening

jumping the wires at the box let it open and close like it should though
well in that case you could replace it with any key switch, but I can't find a single thing on the motor and the "powertouch" or "smarttouch" systems.

All that black shit probably has it so sealed that it would be destroyed trying to get into it. Might have to suck it up and buy the keypad, or install your own. Manual key switch, or button based as long as the wiring is similar, it should work in theory.

based on the wiring, there isnt a special sensor or something and the torque setting sounds like it may be adjustable on the motor so not needed? Honestly looks like its just an electronic relay with a very simple controller that sets a password requirement before activating the buttons to open/close the wire loops.

It could also be monitoring resistance on the line for torque/safety stuff....that may fall under the "powertouch" or "smarttouch" information.

Try creating an account and see if you get more info on that website. Or drop the 7bills on that overpriced bitccchhhhh
