Pretty sure I broke every traffic law known to man to get home to sign for this today. Pulled into my subdivision as the UPS truck was driving away and screamed “NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!” Then I saw the alert pop up on my watch that it had been delivered and my wife signed for it.

If I’m lucky I’ll be able to play this weekend.

Aaaaaand I just ordered a 5TB WD-Black P10 external hard drive because it was 27% off on Amazon and I get the feeling I’m going to need it with how big my Destiny 2 and MW2 files are. Gonna need room for the future files for Gran Turismo and God Of War.

Haven’t played yet, still downloading Destiny 2 files and hasn’t started downloading MW2.

You can’t play games off that drive though…

You could have also opted to get an additional internal ssd.
I was going to get an internal but all but a few get very hot and I got 4X the capacity for roughly the same price as the internal. I was actually looking for the WD Black 1TB internal that has a heat sink but it’s $149 on Amazon, I got the 5TB for $109. I don’t care that it’s external, I’ll never see it after I install it and hide it behind the console.

Hell for that price why not. Doesnt mean you cant add another internal drive later on if you really want to. But 5TB of storage for that price, hell yes

Yeesh. Ok, maybe I’ll play MW2 on Monday?
205 Gb of data for Destiny 2 alone and that’s on disc. MW2 file is over 100Gb without add ons for the day one release and at least for me (only because of the bundle) it’ll be entirely downloaded.
Getting the chance to buy the PS5 was perfect timing for me, I’ve been playing Destiny since day one of Destiny 1 and have thousands of hours into it but the grind is absurdly boring at this point but I can’t let it go. I wanted to get a Gran Turismo but didn’t want to do it on anything but the PS5 and once they gave out the release date for the next God of War (November 9th) I knew I had to find one somewhere.

I found out the hard way that the PS5 doesn’t push enough power in rest mode to charge the Astro headphones. Fixes are to get a power/data USB splitter and plug one end into a standard outlet (50/50 on it working from what I’ve read) or change the power option to shut off in 4 hours and not put it into rest mode at all. It almost seems intentional from Sony because it charges their equipment just fine but a lot of aftermarket gear has the same problems.

It charges my controller and headphones just fine. Sony pulse headphones.

I use a power strip that has 3 USB ports, and ran cables to two controllers and the headset to charge them when Im not playing.

PS5 is powered off then I'm not playing.
That’s most likely what I’m going to do. My surge protector already has USB outlets, I just have to find a straight USB cable (I know I have them, just can’t find them).

I had no issues with my Astros. I had the transceiver hooked up to the back usb port and the headphones charge from the front. I'd set the ps in rest mode and never had an issue. Only had an issue with my headphones breaking (mic doesn't work anymore). So now I have the Sony Pulse 3D or whatever they're called.
