Think of it as you get a free engine at some point with your 10-year warranty. That makes the vehicle an even better deal!

I think they had issues in 2014-17or18 2.0 engine having piston rings that were not heat treated properly. I also think there was another one for rod bearings. When you offer a 10-year warranty, I am sure you end up replacing a few here and there.
Their 2.4 motors also had issues with premature bearing wear. They've certainly had their share of issues here and there with growing pains. Owners should keep good records of required service intervals to ensure the 10 yr 100k powertrain warranty gets honored if issues arise so it isn't brushed off as neglected maintenance. I'll probably have this car at most 3 years 75k miles and get the itch for something else. Maybe sooner if it becomes a problem car, but the first 5300 miles have been solid.

What up Hitches! I installed a Draw Tite hitch today on the Stinger. Out of 12 hitches I've put on cars, this was the most involved. Enlarging bolt holes on the hitch wasn't fun either. 20211109_134349.jpg20211109_201020.jpg20211109_212858.jpg

Jesus that first pic
Yeah, so much needs to come off for the install it's ridiculous. I finally realized that the instructions were messed up with regard to tightening and torquing things down prematurely. I wouldn't have needed to enlarge the bolt holes if I'd left a few other bolts loosened. Oh well, now I can tow my motorcycle, haul bikes, and hook up my cargo carrier. :)

Bought a JB4 and running Map 1 now to test it out before jumping to Map 2 or 3. Dragy says I dropped from a 6.1 to 5.7 0 to 60mph on Map 1. Not bad, but I'd like to hit low 5's so it's closer to the 3.3tt. Hoping Map 2 gets me there.

Bummer that I hit a pothole the other week and getting one of my summer wheels repaired now.? Yay for having 2 wheel sets to use a full size winter tire spare I suppose, but I feel self conscious on a mismatched set ?

Wow this thread just came up today. I have been doing research on the gt2 awd. I am starting to like that car more and more. There is a white one that lives near me in Montgomery by Lakewood creek, is that you by chance? Seen it a couple times.
Not me, I'm in Plainfield near Romeoville. The GT2 with the 3.3tt is great. Just not in my budget for the extra power...

At 17k miles now. Jb4 has been working well on the car. Nice to adjust quickly if I'm traveling for work and stuck with 91 octane as the only option.

Sounds like 2023 will be the last year for the Stinger, so I'll continue to enjoy this one for now. It's been a great daily and comfortable on long work trips.

So, out of curiosity, even with the tune and spirited driving, why kind of mileage have you been getting? I'm thinking of replacing the G37 and highway mileage is becoming important to me, for driving to my dad's and back. That's 500 miles each way and I do it every few weekends.

The G37 sucks fuel. I might get 22-23mpg at just 70mph.

The "tune" really only seems to impact fuel economy during aggressive acceleration, since that's when it's adjusting boost, timing, fuel...

If I'm driving around 85mph on the highway, I'm around 27-29mpg. If I drop speed down to 70-75mph, I'll be in the 31-34 mpg range. Turning the AC on will drop that by 1-2mpg. My best result was 37mpg with the auto-cruise set at 72mph and mostly following other cars at the pre-set gap for auto-cruise (super boring! LOL). This is what the "guess-o-meter" on the dash tells me for my averages, which may be a bit optimistic, of course.

With mixed city driving, I'm usually in the 24-27 range.

Yeah, that's far better than what I get, and both of my car's mileage computers are also optimistic. They'll tell me 25mpg, but I use Fuelly to track the mileage and it reports back about 2-2.5 mph less than what the car says. I've also done the calculations by hand and Fuelly is pretty much dead-on.

Nothing too exciting for an update, but had a nice 200+ mile trip from the WI Dells area back to Plainfield. Acting as lead draft vehicle for my wife's ID.4 (to help extend the range for her EV), I was able to maintain a 36 mpg average while doing 75 mph for the majority of the trip. Could've been a bit better, but needed to use the AC as the temps were over 80 degrees.

Certainly respectable efficiency for a 300hp, AWD, 3800 lb hatchback dad-mobile... :)

Just an update at 28k miles. Running JB 4 Map 2 with 93 octane. Stock was 6.1 seconds 0 to 60mph, and 14.1@99 mph, so this is a nice HP bump for sure by shaving off .5 second on the 0 to 60, and improving .4 sec 4.8 mph in the 1/4.

Not on par with the stock 3.3 tt Stinger, but close enough to be respectable. Now where is that Arteon and G80? ?

I ran a 13.8@100 a few weeks ago on map1. I think my DA was 7700ft though

I don’t like breaking the law a lot
A Ford Explorer was coming at me as I was doing my 1/4 pass on a typically empty frontage road near my house, and I freaked out a bit until I could identify that there wasn't a spotlight on the A-pillar... :ROFLMAO:

Turbos certainly are a better choice at elevation than n/a, as they can help compensate for the thinner air. Any idea how much of a drop off they suffer though? Would your 13.8 @ 100 be a low 13 at 105, for example, if you were at 1000 ft instead?

The da calc I think showed 12.9@107/108 if I recall. I’ll have to do another run on map2. Still need to send in a scan.
