If last weeks theme was horror, this week was more twilight zone/black mirror

I really am loving these more "mature" episodes.

Tho Bortus is still hilarious in any situation you put him in
What I really loved that star trek never really does is that they revist something from their past. I mean star trek had wrath of Khan for the old series, but think about how many planets the old crew or the next generation crew should have probably checked up on once in a while.

If you loved the more mature episodes, #4 is gonna knock your socks off.

Episode 4 has just taken the spot of the #1 episode of this season, and honestly I'd have to think really hard about considering it the best episode the show has ever done.

Its one of the best well written and acted episodes so far.

I must've missed it.

Great episode tho. The Krill planet was very blade runner!

So, I just finished A Tale of Two Topas.

And honestly, my eyes were not dry in this episode. This is so much better than anything the Star Trek universe has given us this year. It destroys everything. Orville MUST be renewed for Season 4 with writing and performances like this.

And watched. What a fantastic episode. And not just for Adriane's off duty attire. Which was phenomenal by the way.

This show is on a whole other level now. I think it would be weird at this point to go back and watch the first 2 seasons, it wouldn't even feel like the same show

And the fact that they had Bortus at the center of a very serious episode, and it worked...... I always say hes funny in any situation you put him in, but nailed this one

Im just gonna say it. This is the best show out there right now. Full stop.

Just got done watching Twice in a Lifetime. There was more humor in this episode, which was nice, but fuck, the serious side of this episode was just heartbreaking. Each episode this season has been better than the last. I feel awful right now but I wanna restart this episode right now and watch it all over again. Thats what this show does best

It was a great episode. Didn’t top A Tale of Two Topas or the season opener, but a solidly strong episode.

Orville hasn’t really ever done a end credits stinger, but this ep I made sure to watch all the way through just in case.

But they left it open ended with no real answer about what happened to Gordon in 2025.

Based on previous time eps the timeline Gordon was living in 2025 got erased and man that tears me up a bit.

Since this episode was basically a continuation last seasons Lasting Impressions ep 11 I rewatched that one and then watched this one again. makes it all the more heartbreaking

I also forgot ep 11 last season was also the episode that Bortus and Klyden took up smoking :ROFLMAO:
She is good on screen, and meshes well with Gordon. I was rooting for them to take the whole family in space, but the episode wouldn't have been as good then.

Also,

Lamar and Tala? Damn....

This weeks episode was all over the place. But still somehow managed to cram in some real impactful moments as well.

Mark Jacksons performance of Isaac is just phenomenal, seeing him go through all those emotions as they rushed thru him

Lamar and Tala? Damn....

That storyline continues right along in this episode

God that slow pullout to reveal Lamar's face at the end :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: And just the way he was so nonchalant the entire episode every time Tala would snap a limb or break a rib  God she must be a fantastic lay to wanna risk ending up in a full body cast every time

It was definitely not the strongest episode.

I was a bit annoyed at the Antics with the Janisi delegation. HIDE ALL THE MEN!!!!! That reminded me too much of the forced family guy humor from season 1 and this entire season to date that has been completely absent. It felt like breaking the 4th wall. I don't think the negotiations was handled well, and it didn't it with the characters this season. Ed and Kelly should have been up front. It would have made the pay off that much better if they could bring the Janisi back to the table for negotiations.

The Isaac/Clair plot line is continuing along.

The Kaylon history, and Charly's character growth was the most important part of this episode, especially despite Charly's bit being basically 5-7 minutes of on-screen dialogue.

Poor LaMarr and Tala. Wish it lasted longer.

Wow, this episode delivered on the premise of "mini movies". With a runtime of 1h 27m its a movie in its own right, one I would have paid to see in the theater.

I basically cried at the end, this is one of the most emotionally powerful episodes this season, and considering the previous episodes this season that is an amazing feat.

Won't post spoilers at all even till other people have had a chance to watch.

But honestly, I don't think anyone was ready for an episode of this caliber.

If this show does not get renewed for a 4th season I will be gob smacked. They have pulled out all the stops and delivered constant, incredible writing and performances.
